Hi all, since the most recent updates, I can finally browse my NAS music library folders again on the iOS app, and play all songs in a (sub)folder, just like I could in the old app and still can do in the macOS app.

In that macOS app, I can also still add any library (sub)folder to my favorites, such that I quickly navigate to, well, my favorite (sub)folders. The iOS app doesn’t support this, however. What’s more, when I add a folder to the favorites in the macOS app, it shows up under my favorites in the iOS app, but it is not accessible from the home screen, with the message “No longer available. Press Edit Home to delete.”

Is this planned to be fixed in a coming update? I sure hope it does, as this is the prime way for me to select music to play.

Thanks,

Bjorn

Hi Bjorn,

I was able to reproduce that, but I was able to use the „pin“ option also from within iOS app when choosing options of the library folder (screenshot).

But sadly that ended in the message on main screen like you described.
Imo it’s a bug…

As a workaround for an album you can chose „add to Sonos favorites“ in library album view. Sadly for imported m3u playlists added to the library that option is not available.

Favorites support in the new app is barely functional, and not scheduled to be fixed that I can see. No Favorites have ever even shown up in the iOS app for me.

 I was able to add an album from my local library to Sonos Favorites.  My complaint is when it’s from a local library there is no album art.

 With Sonos Playlists if the first tracks are from the local library the Sonos Playlist icon is not populated with album covers.

@MoPac

I can confirm it exactly like you described it. Strange to me that album cover from library in general are shown (album overview in library and playback screen) but in Sonos album favorites it’s not.

If I do remember correctly just the „old“ Sonos favorites created in old S2 app are not shown in new S2 app.

Schlumpf:

 Local Library album art is also missing in the queue.  App is incomplete.

When browsing folders in the new iOS app, there is no option to add them to favorites. I only see that option in my macOS app. But as I wrote, when those are then shown in the iOS app, it is with this unavailable message.

@brdsutte

Maybe I misunderstood @controlav but  I thought he was talking of never seen ANY favorites and not just library ones.

Regarding to library favorites I just said that I can confirm your experiences.

 Looked in my library folder for an album.  When I touch the “three dot” menu the only option is Pin collection to Home.  When I do that it shows No longer available. Select Edit Home to remove it.  The album in the library plays fine.  Why this error??

 If I look in Albums for the same album it can be saved to Sonos Favorites.

@MoPac

Yes, that‘s exactly the same behavior I also mentioned above. Strange… I just guess Sonos did a quick job and maybe forgot to implement the functionality for folders. Imo that should be something to get fixed in the next updates.

Yes, I was, on my system Favorites have NEVER shown up in the mobile app, just an error message. It is because I have Favorites of many types (in order to test my own apps), and something in there breaks the new mobile and web app:

My Favorites since May 7

@controlav

Thats strange… Even a title from any streaming service will result in an error if setting it to favorites?

And as said for me and I think most other users setting a library song or album to favorites also works.

Playing your library titles from song or album view works fine?

Hi @brdsutte

Thanks for your post!

We are aware of an issue with marking Music Library albums as favourites from an Android controller, and another one with pinning a Music Library based collection to the Home Screen not working. These issues will be fixed in future updates, but I do not have an estimate for when that might be.

I hope this helps.
