SonosNet Channel is showing as an option in the Network settings on my Sonos app, but I’m not sure why.
The reason I’m asking is that I’m trying to get to the bottom of why my app lags more than it used to.
I have tried Sonos support and given them diagnostics, but after 1hr and 20mins on the phone to them nothing had improved and I’m none the wiser. They asked me to connect a speaker via Ethernet to create a SonosNet but that seemed to make the lag worse.
I have since done a hard reset of all speakers, uninstalled and reinstalled the Sonos app on my iPhone. But the SonosNet channel still appears as an option.
I have 5x Sonos Play 1 speakers and 2x Sonos One speakers in my system. All of them are showing as WifiMode1, so are connecting to my WiFi.
I have an EE Smarthub router, with WiFi turned off and use a TP Link Deco X50 mesh system in AP mode. I have reserved the IP addresses for the Sonos speakers. I get a strong, stable and 70mbps+ WiFi signal from the mesh system in all the rooms where the Sonos speakers are.
