Hi guys. How come when i play music straight from say, apple music it seems alot quieter than if i play through the sonos app/apple music. I always control my music through sonos app due to this. Also will there ever be an addition to the app to allow me to control music with the sonos ace, just as i do with the rest of my products.

Airplay volume is determined by the volume control on your phone.

Sonos volume is determined by the volume control in the app and on the device itself.

Right. If all are max. Should be same surely but isnt.

Two different ‘sources’. When using Apple’s Music servers on your Apple device, you’re getting data from one server (place), when using the Sonos app, your speakers are getting the music from another server (place). There is no guaranty that the two source files are exactly the same. Sonos doesn’t do any adjustments to the data they receive, beyond what you’ve applied.

Im good with it all. I use the sonos app either way for all of it. I like the app. Just wondered why. But now that i have the ace aswell. Limited to the apple music app with that. Hopefully one day they allow the ability to control music using the sonos app with ace also. Thanks though guys.
