Dear Sonos World,

Following the disastrous app release, can someone please advise if there is a timeline as to when we can expect everything to be working again.

It has been months of shouting at Alexa, and waiting for the app to ‘warm up’ and we have had to get some bluetooth speakers in the meantime in order to be able to listen to anything with any confidence, and when we want to.

I heard a rumour Sonos would allow us to use the old app until everything was fixed, will this happen?

Appreciate an update.

Tx

Have you called Sonos support to discuss your specific issues? Some may be local to your system, and the Sonos team has access to your system data to be able to pinpoint things. You have asked when will everything be fixed - if it turns out to be a local issue, no amount of fixes from Sonos will sort that.

It won’t. The CEO has already confirmed that.

Have you ensured you have updated your system (Settings - Manage - System Updates - Check for Updates) and also updated to the latest version of the app?

I did contact Sonos Support a while back, but was just advised to reboot the system, log out and back I and all the usual actions, but nothing ever changed.

Am I to believe if I try again, the outcome will be different?

For six months, Sonos has failed to provide a “roadmap to well”. To me, this is the most galling thing they’ve done. In SW, it is reasonable to expect things to break, although the volume of broken things in the app has been “masking” additional broken things. A roadmap of fixes would be nice, but at this point, I have little confidence that the company understands how to handle a crisis.

There is a roadmap though. They've made it public.

The overzealous spam filter swallowed my reply, so I’ll try it again:

But the fact is there are numerous reported bugs and missing features which are not in this Trello board.

What would those be?

If you really care you can read the forum here, the Sonos Reddit and other audio forums Sonos areas, and compile your own bug list and then compare it to the Trello list.

I'm not impressed with it for my needs, too much time compared to the results.
