In the new 2024 Sonos App :

Where are the alarms settings? 

Where is the Last.fm service?

Where is the Android widget?

This is a real nightmare. I hope Sonos will fix all that asap because what they did releasing this not finished app is scandalous.

Wow, nothing works anymore. Very talented. Maybe look up the word: ‚Verschlimmbesserung‘.

I searched for them old app. Found the APK. Reinstalled.. Do it!

No. You can find the APK for the previous version of S2.

 

Google " download old Sonos app"

 

You will find a link on a Sonos forum .

Download it. 

You will need to enable " install APK from unverified source" of course

 

But it works!

I have, like others, emailed the CEO asking that issues be addressed - and in the meantime S2 be made available again. Doubt I will get a reply but we shall see!

Does the new app allow you to chose ‘line in’ as a music source?  I’m having trouble being able to use my Iphone phone app to play music from my turntable.


The new Sonos app is a half-baked effort. Apple would never have released a product that was not fully tested and glitches worked out before widespread launch. Please return the old app and its functionality until you work out all glitches. New Sonos app is truly awful. 


My whole system is completely useless after the latest update. I can even watch my 2 tvs with player and beam

Hi.

I have several audio plays on my personal share. In the old app was a play all button. So the fairytale was played from 1 to 20 without interacting. Where is the "play all" button in the new app?

With the introduction of iOS 80, my Sonos system (17 speakers) is practically nonfunctional: (1) the response to inputs is very slow, (2) I can no longer create playlists by adding songs to the current selection, (3) Sonos has deleted the sleep timer, (4) the volume control is not logical and is not very touch sensitive, (5) Sonos has not apologized or addressed the enormity of the problem, (6) I have lost all of my playlists (I assume permanently), (7) the interface between Sonos and my music services (such as Apple Music) is not operational. I can’t understand why Sonos management thought these dramatic changes were necessary? One help desk suggestion I saw was to revert to using one’s desktop computer to control Sonos! Really? Please bring us back to the reliable interface we were used to.

Dear all users
Lesson learned after the famous SW App upgrade.

All end users should not upgrade anymore a new SW App release without a clear and detailed change log which is public available.

Change log entry like „we enhanced major functionality“ or any fancy marketing bash can not be accepted anymore.

Please all, support this request.

BTW, has anybody found where the current SW release can be found in the app anymore??


I appreciate the posts from users saying download the old version but that’s for android only. 
 

iOS(non-jailbroken) are out of options. 
 

easiest solution I’ve found so far is to go to another company and dump Sonos, just can’t find a decent bundle right now. 


“ We know many of you are concerned about certain features going missing, so let us take this opportunity to say that the following features are coming back”.   Really? When? Some time, never?  Did you think that people who use Sonos for alarms and sleep timers every single day would just be happy to lose those facilities for an unspecified time?  I love my Sonos system, but I have no love for the managers and teams who thought that it was ok to remove important features in use by your loyal users day after day.  Are you trying to put people off from buying Sonos?

Really wondering what is going on with the quality control and testing of this new app update. Why can I no longer see the trueplay feature on my Android device. Why can I see it on my Iphone and yet it will not work despite deleting app, reinstalling, logging out, ensuring mics are on my devices etc.

I am sure like myself many people have spent thousands on their Sonos products and to experience this kind of half baked roll out is frustratingly annoying. Sonos You need to do Better. You are not the only game in town.

I uninstalled the old app from my tablet and resurrected the “gold” app. (Thanks for the people who gave the tips!). My first reaction when it started up “God, how dated it looks!”. I do think that the new app looks slicker. But, yes, it is missing too much. I was listening to a new album while reading the news paper from the tablet. When a new song started I switched to Sonos to get the title of that song. Every time, it was disconnected from the player and could not display what was playing - it took ten seconds or so, until it did. And constantly, the controller showed the wrong song, it was always behind. I should add that in this zone I have two Play 3 and a 1Gen Sub, a factor that may be aggravating. (I plan to replace the Play 3 with Era 300 later this year.)

I’m keeping the new app on the phone, where I don’t see to have this problem. And when I’m not in the sofa reading the news paper, I’m mainly at my computer. Where I have the Windows app.

Where can we find the "gold app" yo are referring to?  I think most of us want to uninstall the current version and revert.
