As per the title… I use a Sonos connect and have tried to reinstall the Innuos Zenith MK3 library, but comes back with cannot find music… was working fine earlier

Apologies, I have absolutely no idea what a Innuos Zenith MK3 is. Is it an NAS of some type?

If so, I’m wondering if it received an update that possibly changed the version of SMB that it allows. Unfortunately, while you told us it was working earlier, you didn’t mention which Sonos OS you’re using.

S1 requires the NAS to allow SMB v1, S2 requires SMB v2 or higher. Again, if this is an NAS, I suspect checking that might fix the issue.

If it isn’t an NAS, you may want to submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of recreating this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. But don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here, they get sensitive about GDPR.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

Thank you Bruce for your answer, I’m using the old Sonos Connect and the Innuos Zenith is a streamer/ripper with an internal harddrive.

I’m not at all technical, plus I’m blind, so will call the helpline tomorrow.

Also, please note Sonos, the Email notification I received telling me I had a reply, well the link didn’t work

Bit of an update… I did speak with a Sonos agent who was very patient and tried to do his best, but unfortunately he removed the music library from the app, but could not reinstall it.

I have since been dealing with an excellent chap from Innuos who has jumped through hoops to try and help me, but it looks as if the real problem lies with owning an old Sonos Connect and when Innuos brought in the update in security level with the latest update in theory meant I should be able to go into the Sonos settings, add the library again, type in the path followed by username guest and password innuos… still it won’t accept it.

I have downloaded the S2 app to my phone which operates my living room TV system and tried to add the ZENith’s library, but despite it being added successfully it doesn’t show up on the apps homepage.

If you’re still reading this and can make any sense out of it, feel free to reply.

Hello

i have exactly the same problem in the last week or so.

i am also on Sonos S1 because I have the legendary (!) legacy Sonos products. I cannot update the Sonos app because of these legacy products
I now get “access denied” message when trying to re-add my innuos zen mini mk3 library to Sonos. let me  know if you found a solution

thanks

paul

Did Innuos update their product to only use SMBv2 or higher? Because Sonos S1 only does SMBv1.

I have spoken to innuos support today and they do still use SMBv1

OK. That was the only “update in security level” I could think of.

Updateee :

Innuos help have clarified that this is due to the recent Innuos update (I don’t know if that’s got anything to do with SMB etc)

There are 2 options apparently:

1. Use the sense UPNP function to stream music to the Sonos speakers

  1. Upgrade the Sonos to the new app

Option 1 does work but I finally took the plunge and updated my system to the new Sonos app (had to lose my old play 5 🙁)

There are innuos library is now accessible again 😀

What this has told me is that these streaming systems are not built to last , unlike the old hifi separates. Anything that relies on software/apps has a built-in lifespan unfortunately

Hope this helps
