Hi all, please help me get Sonos to work via Amazon Music app for my son 🙏

My son has a Play 1 in his room. He has the Sonos app and can play via that but he really wants to be able to cast it via the AM app so he can read song lyrics, also it’s just way better, visually. But no speakers are shpwing up on the AM app at all. 

He’s logged into my Sonos account, my Amazon Alexa account and his own Amazon Music account (as family member)

Android phone or iPhone?

If iPhone, make sure you are pressing this symbol on the AM playback screen to bring up the list of available speakers.


If that doesn’t bring up the Play:1, then go to the iPhone Settings and scroll down to Amazon Music, and make sure Local Network access is turned on for the AM app.

Then force close the AM app and reopen it.

See if that helps, if you are using an iPhone.

Yes it’s iPhone, and it’s already on Local Network.

In which case I would suggest uninstalling Amazon Music. Reboot the phone, and once fully booted up, reinstall Amazon Music. 
The first time you then try casting to speakers, allow access to network, and see what happens. It could be that it all just needs to be re-established…

One final thing - on an old thread I just saw from 2022 about this, someone said:

“Note that the Sonos skill must be enabled in your Alexa app, even if you are not using Alexa with Sonos.”

I don’t know if that still applies…
