We have been using an old Mac to stream music to speakers via Sonos Port.We have bookmarks in Google Chrome for our favorite stations/programs - but the Mac is so old it needs to be put out to pasture.I have a Samsun Tablet that’s just sitting around - so I thought I would just replace the Mac with the Tablet. Is there a downside?
Hi,Have tried to find an answer to this online, but maybe I’m not using the right search terms. Anyway…I have a Sonos Amp, with a turntable as Line In (powered by a phono amp). It works fine, but I miss the true vinyl sound. So I was thinking - I have my previous amp still. Can I set up a system so that I can play CD and Turntable through the old amp as previously, but connect the Sonos Amp to aux (?) in that amp to stream music to the system. Many thanks in advance for your help! Mark
I have older generation connect running wired speakers to my patio and line in to my TV. Worked perfectly for 5 years or more. Within last year or so the sound starts to fade to barely a whisper no matter volume setting. Neither TV or speakers will work when this happens. I can unplug power to connect for few seconds and once the room is back online it will function perfectly for various amounts of tme before it fades again. I thought it might be connect going out so I bought replacement and that seemed to work but unfortunately that was short-lived. Have been on phone with customer support. We tried a few things but communication was difficult. I asked for elevation and was cut off while waiting. Anyone with similar issue and possible solution?I also have another connect device with a similar configuration for another room and it still works.
how to connect the Port to existing pre-amp and outboard separate DAC
I’ve got a large music library on my PC, that I copied over to my QNAP NAS a few years ago but have never exploited or linked through to SONOS - I’ve really only used Spotify with SONOS. . It’s easy to manage my library on my PC (I use Mediamonkey), but never quite figured out my best options to manage it on my NAS. I use Plex (paid lifetime pass) on my NAS / PC / TV / Phone for my video media, and it’s great. However it doesn’t seem so good for managing audio and I’m not convinced Plexamp is any better (despite the rave reviews). I can’t import my playlists and Plex doesn’t recognise the ratings I’ve already added to all of my audio and that I use all the time on Mediamonkey, so my options to manage, listen to and filter music I want to listen to is limited. The SONOS Music Library also doesn’t recognise ratings, so can’t filter there either, so suspect playlists might be the only way I’ve got of filtering my music, meaning I’ve got to be able to better manage it on the server.
Hey all, ive read most of the articles that relate to my issue and connected sonos support but i dont have a direct answer so im trying here. my setup:2 x era 100 1 sub mini 1 beam 1 project turntable with pre-amp and the necessary line-out to connect to the era 100basically, imagine a large rectangle room with a vinyl player at one end of the room and a TV at the other end. I began with the vinyl player, 2 x ERA’s and the sub mini at one end of the room for which i used the line-in input on the ERA’s to play my vinyl. i also set this up as “living room” in the appI then added the beam because i wanted to add sound to the other end of the room (next to the TV) but also introduce surround sound to my system. to do this on the app, i first had to break apart my current “living room” setup then create a new surround sound “living room”.the surround system works perfectly and sounds great (for both TV and music) but by doing this meant that the ERA’s line-in input became de-activated - me
Hello community,I’m adding a turntable (Technics AT-LP3XBT) to my existing Sonos setup and want to know the best path forward.Currently I have an Arc + Sub. The turntable will be in the same room and next to the Arc speaker (within 3 or 4 feet to one side). Option 1: Add a Port to pipe the sound through my Arc (and an old Play 1 in the bedroom).Option 2: Add a Five more oomphOr some other option: What would you do?
I am curious if there is a way to play the sound from my Denon receiver on the Sonos system. Example, I watch TV with Roku that plays through me Denon. I’d prefer outputting that sound from the Denon to get better sound on the Sonos system.I have a bunch of Era 100s.Thanks for your expert ideas.
Hi guys. I have a room I use a a TV with surround, Beam, 2 play ones and a sub. I also have a play5 connected to a turntable. I liked to watch games with no sound and listen to vinyl on the surround. It worked great. If I put on a record the TV audio would stop and the line in would take over. I recently upgraded my 1st gen ones with one SLs and had to re-setup the groups to do the same thing. The problem is that now the line in on the play 5 works but the added group of the TV surround keeps dropping sound and going back to the TV. Some time 5min or 7mins or 2mins. No set time but it always happens. It’s driving me nuts. Does anyone have a solution? I know it works because it did just fie before I did the upgrade. Thank you
Whats the best way to get two wires into the one side of the adapter? I’m having a hard time.
When my Connect is playing music with other speakers in a group, it constantly drops audio. Often multiple times in a song. I’ve had it hardwired direct to the router and wireless, no difference. A helpful Sonos support rep told me that it’s because it’s an older device and they have trouble handling the load of music services like YouTube Music, Spotify, and Pandora. He said this is particularly an issue when the Connect becomes the primary device that forms the net with the other speakers. Recommended work arounds included using wireless instead of wired and adding the Connect to the group AFTER starting streaming. There was some logic to his explanation, but unfortunately none of the suggestions helped.SO… do I upgrade to a Port and all my issues go away? I’d hate to spend the money and find out it doesn’t help any. Sonos used to be super stable for me and in the past two years constant drops from the connect and connect amps.
I have a number of Sonos products which all work reasonably well EXCEPT my Sonos Connect Gen2. It was purchased in 2019 and for the last year will not stay connected - either WIFI are hardwired. I’ve done factory resets, moved to other locations, rebooted, etc. and it may come online for a while but eventually will display “not connected” just disappears from the Sonos app all together. The only visible symptom is the white LED flickers (not blinking) when it’s “dead”. If I unplug it, it may come back online for an hour or two.I’ve pinged Sonos support several times and end up going through all of the basic troubleshooting to no avail. Very frustrating for a product I pay a premium for to stop working in 3 years.Anyone have thoughts? Thank you!
Can I connect an external turntable to my Beam(Gen 2)?
HelloOften the question is asked which Source Level to use for turntable (TT) audio. Sonos doesn’t provide a recommended level to use. The most common answer given by experienced community members when questions are posed regarding low audio with a TT; is to increase the source level. Good advice. However increasing the source level too high can have unwanted side effects adding coloring to the TT audio.Assuming you have correctly setup your TT using line-in to a Sonos speaker, Amp or Port here’s something that may help determine the optimum level. In a quiet environment Power on your TT Make sure the line-in is active Play some vinyl for about five (5) minutes to get things warmed-up After Five minutes raise the tone arm Open the Sonos app and select the room for your TT Scroll down to Source Level and open it Select Level 10 (high) Listen for audio hum Decrease the Source Level until the hum dissipates (it’s still there but hopefully too low to audibly notice depending upon your ear)
How can I help play vinyl through my Sonos Beam, sub mini and two OneSL speakers? The system is linked up to my TV and is great but how do I play vinyl through it.Layman’s terms please!😀

Hi I get confused by Sonos systems :Pi have a Sonos 5 and Soundbar and would like to add a turntable if I have a Turntable and buy a Sonos amp that i connect it towill the Sonos amp share the music from the turntable to the speakers via WIFI? I;d rather not use wires... thanks!
I have a ZonePlayer 120 that has been in storage for a few years. I. just found a new use for it thankfully. However, I can not seem to get it connect via my Sonos S1 app. When I try a factory reset (unplugging and then reconnecting while plugging power back in) it simply blinks a brief white light and then nothing else. I have held the button in for several minutes and nothing alse happens. The S! app does not see the ZP120. Anyone have any ideas?
Hi- I have a few of the Connect S15 devices. One is continuously in a reboot cycle. I’ve pulled power and plugged back in. Still does it. I disconnected all lines going to it with only power being applied, still does it. Held the play/pause button down while applying power, gets to the orange light (flashes a few times) then reboots. Is it a lost cause? Thanks!
My current Sono’s setup is a Beam 2 on my main TV in the living room. And a Roam in the bed room.I’m looking to expand my system to add a turntable and an external phono pre amp. I live alone so the room will be a dedicated space intended for just this audio setup. However there might be times where I would want to stream some vinyl to the other rooms but it wouldn’t be the norm. I can’t be 2 places at once. 😉So right now I can afford…1 Sonos Five or Era 300 (possibly adding a second of either in the future)OR2 Sonos Era 100’s So I thought I’d like to hear some other peoples opinions and how they have, or would approach this scenario. I think it would help in making my decision. Please note I have read some other questions and and set up posts, but this is more about the budget constraint and the options I have. Knowing that the system could always be upgraded later.Let me know what you think.
I have a turntable connected to the Sonos AMP and the volume is very very low. At first the low volume was also accompanied by a hum, which disappeared when I connected the ground wire to one of the RCA inputs of the AMP.However the volume is still low even when I set the Source Level to Level 10 (high). I have connected other sources to the RCA input, such as the TV or a CD player and they work correctly. What other solutions can I try? Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
Good morningI'm having trouble successfully adding the boost device to my system.I received a used device for my friend. The device has been reset and restored to factory settings. They can be physically added to my speaker system.Unfortunately, there is an error when registering the device in my SONOS account. The procedure ends with the boost being added to the S2 controller, unfortunately with a red message that it has not been assigned to my account. As a result, the device cannot be used and some controller functions are disabled. The new boost is not in the list of my devices on SONOS.The previous owner used the device with an S1 controller. What can I do in this situation?Do I need to unregister from the previous user's account and system?Or maybe it's a hardware problem? Please advise and helpRegards Tomasz
I have a Sony STR-DH190 receiver that I have connected to a turntable and two passive speakers. I also own a Sonos Era 100 and a Sonos Arc. I’m trying to connect my receiver to my Sonos speakers so that I can play music through both my passive speakers and through my Sonos speakers simultaneously. The Sonos Port is a bit too expensive for me, so I’m looking into a used Connect Gen2. I’ve seen that there is a 75ms delay, but the speakers are in different rooms so I think that will be fine. I just want to confirm that I’d be able to both play music through the Connect into the receiver (to go into my passives) AND connect to my Sonos speakers simultaneously, so that all three rooms would be play together. Hoping this would also allow me to play my records and have them connect to every room as well.
I have inherited a couple on Sonos Ones (A100) and want to use them for casual listening in study and kitchen but link them to my proper hifi in the living room which I use for serious music listening. I understand that I need a Connect but they are discontinued so I’m looking to get one second hand but there seem to be a number of different models.I need one that is compatible with the Sonos Ones (A100 version) and preferably without an amp built in as I have a better quality amp already. Does anybody know which model number I should be looking for?
Hi everyone, I’m a long-time Sonos customer with a bunch of Play 1s and a Play 3. I just got myself a pair of Era 100’s solely to get my turntable working with my Sonos ecosystem. It has been awesome playing records throughout the house BUT… now I’m wondering if I should upgrade my turntable.I currently have the old go-to for non-audiophiles: Audio Technica LP60. I've just been excited to play some vinyl and will make no claims about the sound, but I had previously been looking at the Fluance RT85N when I still had bookshelf speakers and was getting the urge to improve my setup. My question is: would upgrading my turntable (and getting the required preamp) make any difference if I’m only using the Sonos system for playback? In my simple view, a higher quality signal/sound being converted by Sonos’ digital processing *should* be better overall. Is that a valid assumption? If so, is it worth spending $600-$700 to upgrade (FYI, I have a budget up to $1000)? (And yes, I am going to proceed
