What is the best Trueplay-compatible passive in-wall speaker?
I have a few Connect Amps. I would like the flexibility to use them simply as Connect modules. Has any done a mod to take line out connects from the unit? TIA
Hi - I noticed a small chat on this topic, however I’m not sure what the outcome / solution was? Has anyone successfully connected the EVERSOLO DMP A8 Music Streamer / DAC / Pre-Amp to a SONOS AMP either via HDMI or other outputs from the DMP A8 to the Sonos AMP? Please help…I can’t be the only one wondering about this? Thanks.
Hello: I’m trying to understand if connecting a pre-amp powered turntable to a port will enable me to play vinyl across my current system. Entertainment roomArc Amp (aux disabled) 2 pair Sonance in ceiling speakers connected to Amp as surrounds. 1st gen sub3 other RoomsSonos Play:1i had to disable my Amp’s aux port for surround to my ceiling speakers, and am curious if hooking a turntable up to a port and connecting that to my system will deliver sounds across this system and other rooms. sorry if this has been answered.
I have the Project T1 that I bought with a Five, but now have it connected through the Amp to some Linn Majik 109 speakers. The sound from the turntable is really poor in comparison to listening to streamed music in the sense that it loses all character and volume.I have the input set currently at 9. I have tried all settings up to 10 and 9 is about as much as i can push it before it gets a bit messy.I listen to streamed music on volume 10 when working or 15 if i want it a little louder. On vinyl i have to listen at 45-50.I have had the turntable preamp repaired by Sonos as it was originally delivered damaged, so i am confident the preamp is working and set as it should be.I have another amp, that i have swapped out and it didn’t improve anything, so i am confident the amp isn’t the issue. The speakers sound fine when streaming so i don’t think there is an issue with the speakers or cable.I have come to the conclusion that perhaps the quality i am getting is the quality that i should get
Hello! I need Sonos suggestions for the following requirements.Music for my living room that opens into a patio and pool. So, i need to play music in my living room only sometimes, sometimes only outdoors in the patio and sometimes both. There’s not TVs involved. So, ideally in the living room i need an amp and speakers. it’s a large space and i wouldn’t mind ceiling speaker solutions. is a soundbar a good idea with a sub and satellite ceiling speakers? is there a limit to how many speakers i can add? For the patio i need weatherproof speakers for sure. will the same amp be able to power all the speakers?Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
Hey there! I’ve been doing some and decided on getting Sonos Outdoor speakers + Sonos amps for my backyard because I love Sonos and i’ve read that these speakers w/ Trueplay sound great. What’s been very challenging is trying to figure out how many speakers I need to get based on my backyard space. Here’s what I’m thinking so far: Amp #13 speakers in the BBQ area 3 speakers in the covered patio area. Amp #23 speakers on left side of the pool 3 speakers on right side of pool Does this seem appropriate for the space? Also wondering I’m wondering if it’s best to set these up as left/right channels or mono?
First off, I’m a professional sound engineer for live and recorded music, but I have ZERO experience with home stuff, so I apologize if I get terminology wrong.I inherited a lot of A/V stuff in this house when we bought it back in 2020. Most of it has been useless as I can’t login to it, but I did manage to get into the Sonos Connect upstairs which was connected to a Sonance DSP2-150 MkII power amp and that appears to drive the Sonarray 8.1 speakers out by the pool.I think 4 of the 8 speakers are Left, 4 are right, and the sub appears to be wired mono, though there are only LR outputs from the power amp, so it’s not clear exactly how the sub is connected - but I don’t think it’s super relevant to my issue.Half of the small speakers have always been out - actually just really, really quiet by comparison. Recently the power amp failed, so I grabbed an old studio power amp out of my closet and plugged it in…To my surprise, *regardless of input side* (I tried both) whichever output drives
Recently I have purchased Sonos Sub (Gen 3) and my Sonos App can't connect with a Bluetooth on the initial stage adding a new device in App. Give me to know how can I manage this error?
Hi I currently have a zone player which connects my record player, but it's only for the S1 app. Do I need a connect gen2 (far cheaper than the port) to replace the zone player on the s2 app? Thanks
Hi there - I’m looking to buy one of the turntables, but the website says compatible with “select products” - and I don’t see any of my set-up mentioned. I’d be really grateful if someone could assure me that my set-up (Arc, OneSL’s (as surrounds), Sub) is compatible with any of the Sonos turntables? Many thanks all.
My Sonos was professionally installed 13 years ago. I have a bridge and a connect:amp. The connect is wired to two outdoor rock speakers. It looks like either my bridge died or the power supply did. I have the bridge connected to my wireless router but there are no lights indicating a connection. What’s my best alternative to get this up and running without spending much? Thanks!!
Does anyone have experience connecting a TEAC TN-280BT (or similar TEAC equipment) turntable to a Sonos Move through bluetooth? Setting up the Sonos and using it has not been a problem so far, but it has so far proven to be impossible to “mate” them. Both the LP player and the Sonos come with their own instructions on how to connect to bluetooth devices, and i can not see that they are incompatible.
Greetings everyone!I have a Sonos beam gen 2, mini Sub, 2x Symfonisk speakers connected to a TVI also have a third party turntable with pre amp (pro-ject) and 2x active speakers (Edifier R1280T wired, not BT)Can I connect them all together to stream music from my turntable to the Sonos system? Which hardware do I need to do so?Also can i connect all together when watching movies or there will be a sound delay? Is there any chance of frying a device because of the active speakers? Thanks in advance, greetings from Greece! ✌️
Has anyone had any issues with Sonance VP66 TL (thinline) speakers on AMP running at higher volumes. Distortion, popping/cracking sounds. We’ve isolated the speakers (and Sonance provided a new set), wiring and AMP, and all seem to function fine independently, but in combination, the problem persists.Sonance and Sonos both are saying products should work fine together. I have other rooms running AMP with other sonance speakers (same family, just not thinline) with no issues
Moving from USA to India with my Sonos Arc, Gen3 and Era 100. India has 220v power compared to 110v in USA. All of these devices specification says 100-240v. Does that mean that the US device will work just fine in India without a step down converter? Anyone in the community who has done that?
Hello! There is a new Sonos Port in our office. The Sonos Port is located in the server cabinet, connected via an ethernet wire to the nearest switch. The network is new and the Internet is about 200 Mbps. There is only one subnet. There are no conflicts on the network. The network engineer confirmed it. I noticed a problem connecting to the Sonos Port with the new S2 version (updated). The updated Sonos Port (with S2) is not detected on the network. I tried to connect from my smartphone (Sonos S2 App), and also tried to find it from my computer (with Sonos S2). A long search for the device, eventually not to be found. Then I made a rollback (Downgrade) to the S1 version. After the rollback, the Sonos Port began to be detected normally on the network. In the previous version, an update message is intrusively coming out. Dear developers, please check this situation, it is necessary to fix the bug and optimize the new version of S2 for Port. Thank you!P.S. Please move the topic to Audio C
I'm new to Sonos speakers. I purchased an Era 100 and plugged my turntable into it through the Line In. Works great, sounds great. The problem I have is, if I play Apple Music on the speaker, and want to switch back to the turn table, it doesn't automatically switch like I'd like it to. Is there a way to make it automatically switch back to Line In? The "Autoplay" settings don't seem to do it if it has last been playing Apple Music. Or is there a "Hey Sonos" or "Alexa" voice command to make it switch? The only way I have found is through the app. thanks!
Please tell me why I can’t disable sound delay on the Sonos Port line input? Minimal settings is 0.75 sec. Why you cant add a zero settings? In some cases this is absolutely necessary. When I bought your product, I didn’t know that I couldn’t remove the sound delay. Moderator edit: changed output to input
I have been down rabbit holes and understand the limitations around my Beam (gen 2), 2 x Era 300, and Sub-mini. Being a 40 year old man, I obviously am getting into records and deciding which record player to get. Now since my Era 300’s are set up as surround sound I know I cannot use the line-in or BT, also the position of the era 300s doesn’t lend itself to where i would want my record player or run a line, so, my questions:if I get an additional Era 100 and a bluetooth enabled record player, can I have them in different, but close locations, and can it daisy-chain to all other devices when listening to records (by setting they as a separate room) if I get the the Victrola Onyx Stream, is this a work around to use my existing set-up since it is wireless (over WifI)?Thanks all!
I currently use my turntable with my Era 100 and also have a cd player that I connect.I am due to purchase another Era 100 and was wondering if I can connect my cd player to one era and the turntable into the other using the line in ports. Would this work and does it show you have two line inputs on the App?
Have a fluance record player with a built-in amp. Would an external preamp provide better sound to my Sonos speakers. I have a line in to fives.
Hi everyone! I’m finding there are multiple solutions to this issue depending on the set up and turntable. Basically I have set up my Music Hall MMF-1.3 Turntable to my two Era 100 using line in connected to a RCA to AUX and I’m getting a massive humming noise.Changing the source level to the lowest does resolve the issue, however I’m too understand it should be at 10 for a turntable so I don’t think I’m getting the best out of it. The humming also returns on a low level if the volume is too high, I like to listen to my records quite loud.I feel like a grounding cable might help, but I don’t know where I could connect the other end too given the Era 100 doesn’t have anything to connect it to. Things to note:The turntable has a built-in phono pre-amp the tone arm is aluminium each speaker is 0.6m either side of the turntable The turntable also sits under my TV All of the adapters for my entertainment unit sit underneath where my turntable sits connected to a power board I have a feel
I bought into Sonos, and am starting to regret it. It is slow on my phone, cuts out, and is always updating but not better. So, …. Sonos where are you going? Is this going to be worth the pain in the end? I can get speakers anywhere. Can you tell me why I should keep your stuff? You keep offering free shipping. Shipping really isn’t relevant - that tells me you’ve lost your way. I’ve spent over $1,000. Keep the shipping, make the app work. This isn’t a pair of socks.
Hi, I’m looking for some support as to the product needs to get my Project bluetooth turntable with phono pre-amp to easily connect with my Sonos system. Below is what I have and plan to buy to create a surround sound experience for both TV and Vinyl but I’m not sure if I need the Port so I can easily flip between vinyl or TV connection? Do I need anything else to seemlessly connect all sound devices (TV, Turntable) to Sonos speakers? Here’s what I have:https://www.project-audio.com/en/product/vt-e-bt/ Sonos Playbar - connected to TV via optical cablePlanning to get:(2) Sonos Era 100
