I have a project turntable connected to the Five via rca to 1/8 jack , as is correct re the instructions. The left and right channels are reversed in the 5 and also in the paired S1’s I have in another room. Sometimes the right channel doesn't work at all in the 5 even though it's fine in the ones. The sound is not good via turntable no matter how I configured the EQs , it's diving me mad.
I recently bought a Sound Blaster X4 for my Sonos Beam Gen 2 to connect it to my gaming PC. I think I've done everything correctly but I'm not getting any output. While fiddling with the settings last night I managed to get sound but turning my PC on today, there's nothing outputting from the Beam.I connected my PC to the X4 via USB -> X4 to Beam Gen 2 through SPDIF out using the supplied Sonos dongle. I set the default playback to SPDIF Out (Sound Blaster X4). Set up the Beam 2 via the iOS app but didn't connect it to any TVs. Still no sound. What am I doing wrong?
Got the Port, set up with a turntable. See ‘line in’ in the app but when I click it, nothing happens. When I try to have the port play in another room I get an ‘unable to connect try later’ message. I feel like I am so close but not sure what is wrong. I reset my router, that did nothing. Any help would be appreciated.matt
I have Sonos in-celing speakers in different rooms of my house and was curious as to whether having more speakers in use means that I am also using more electricity or whether it makes no difference.
Hi all, first post!I have been using a sonos connect amp for streaming music to my outdoor pool area with wired speakers. The sonos connect amp has no rca outputs. I want to know if I can get a sonos port to use the rca line outs to my house stereo system, and have it play the same music stream in sync with the sonos connect amp that is driving my wired pool area speakers.Sorry for the complicated question. Thank you in advance if anyone knows!JLHayes
Hey, Does optical (toslink) not qualify as a line-in input? Doesn't show on my Sonos Connect settings even though its connected. Cheers
How do I setup up my amp to the WiFi ?
Why not release the S2 app again and cll the new app S3 so we all can ignore that one till it is finally working?I still cannot properly use the new app from my phone and it looks I am not the only one.You do want us to spend 500USD for a headphone but you refuse to have a propr app on the market? For me something I do not understand and ceryainly will not do.Please work as a normal sofware devloper , with version releases. Nothing new but apparently not obvious to your development group. You need some one new to head that department, someone who understands the basic principles!
Hello everybody,This is my last attempt to keep my Sonos hardware before throwing them into the nearest trash.I have 2 Sonos Connect, each one is connected to an old amp (1968 for one, 1986 for the other one), and the amps to mechanical loudspeakers. As I see the Sonos products evolving, my installation will not last so long. It is already the beginning of the end, with [as explained by the Sonos Support team] the removal of the local music library (please don’t answer that there is an issue with SMB1, this is not my case). The local library is supposed to come back one day, but I cannot suffer to be at the mercy of the updates that are more and more disconnected with my needs. I mean… Not the needs that the Product Management pretends I have, but the needs that I do really have.So I am wondering if there could be a way to make my Sonos system private. I would like to avoid any kind of software update, neither at the Sonos Connect level nor the application, and of course to avoid the app
Another just reference point. Bought an amp for my outdoor speakers. Sonos does not include their custom banana plugs in the box with the amp. They provide you with a 3 foot long cord with banana plugs on both ends? Completely useless. Again compared to Bose experience, that had all kinds of plugs to help with the project. Again, not very consumer freindly. Just paid $19 more for the bananna plugs and $25 to over night them. Just waiting for the next problem!
How do I get a return to the S1 app after being auto upgraded to the new app? The new app has many dead zones and does not respond well to the Connect One that controls the whole home system. The new app sucks with my equipment that has worked great for 8 years. I do not want to spend $1000 to buy new hardware when what I have has worked so well. What are my options to go back to the old system app?
Hello there I am planning to buy a Sony turntable with preamp in order to listen my vinyls with era 300. I also bought the line in adapter, will I have any issues with the Sony ps lx310bt? Are they compatible? Do I need anything else?
Recently acquired a SONOS Port and Audio Technica turntable. When connecting my turntable to my Port and streaming through my Play:1s and Beam, the audio is frequently choppy. The Play:1s and Beam are fine when streaming from Spotify (or connected to my TV). Is there a setting I need to adjust for the Port?
Just set up a Five, networked with a move, and have a turntable plugged into the line-in on the Five. All the documentation says that I can set the Five to autoplay when a signal is detected, but I’m having to manually select “Line-in” from “Your Sources” for the record player to work.I’m assuming this is one of the bugs in the new app, but can there really NOT be a way to play line in unless you toggle via the app?
Hi Everyone,Just bought Sonos In Celing Speakers with Amp.Upon setting up got Error 1101, I have tried to unplug turn on and off both amp and router and factory reset router. Seems that Amp cant get the update.Any other ideas?
I have the Ray Speaker and would like to set it up to use with Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB Turntable but am not sure what cords or connections I need. Does anyone know?
I still can’t get all my Sonos playlists on the latest version of the Sonos App
Hello:In my little fortress of solitude room, I have a Beam Gen2 and two Symfonisk lamps as surrounds. I currently have a tv plugged into the Beam via HDMI, and a PS5 and little media PC plugged into the tv by HDMIs to route to the Beam. I also currently have a Victrola Stream Carbon linked via Wifi to the Beam+Symfonisk room.Assuming Sonos does add Audio Swap functionality for the Beam Gen2 (and Android) like they have said, would populating a HDMI slot on my tv with a RCA to HDMI cable deliver my turntable sound via the Audio Swap feature to the Sonos Ace? Would I need a switcher to accommodate cables from the tv and turntable into the Beam? Are the RCA to HDMI cables or converters any good and would it affect sound or performance in any way. Is there another solution?Thank you
Just got me a Starlink dish and router. Now unable to get my Sonos Port to connect. Apparently Sonos isn’t compatible with Satellite routers. Help.
hi we have a very large open planned kitchen/ living area. we also have 11ft ceilings. we were thinking 6 speakers but unsure of the 6 or 8inch ones? also how far from the corner walls should we go. above is the plans of our kitchen. I hope someone could help. Thanking you
Hi - I’m a complete newbie on this - so please be kind 😆 i’ve inheritied a Technics SL-1900 turntable (probably from the 90’s) and also have a Pioneer AMP (also from 90’s).I was advised by a very competent (i think) hifi expert to buy the Sonos Port and connect my Turntable into the IN plugs, and then connect my Port to the Amp from the OUT to the AUX IN ports. When i have this setup, the volume output through my SONOS speakers is the equivalent to Volume 8, even when its on 100%.Any idea what I’m doing wrong? Does the turntable need to go through the AMP? It seems to make no difference at all to the volume output whether its connected or not.Am going slightly bonkers. Any help welcome.
HelloI’ve been gifted a Sonos Port years ago but never installed it because I had no amp.Now I do so I decided to install it. Everything went through, but some minutes after (10 or 120, no clue) I realized the Port was just off (no LED). Factory reset does not do anything since it does not even turn on. I’ve tried with another power supply to no avail. It was never used before so I can’t understand what’s wrong, it’s like connecting to WiFi bricked it or that it got bricked during the final setup steps.Sonos support is unreachable (they say 90m wait over the phone?! the chat is stuck at a random number in the queue). I am a bit out of option, how can I investigate and finally use it?Thanks!
As a Pro level home AV integrator, I am getting flooded with customers who now have lost, settings, playlists, and what was working well, now is forcing customers and myself to either Upgrade the iOS and Device or Operating system itself, or get a new device that can be upgraded with a newer OS so that the New 80 version can be used!! Are you freaking kidding me! So, as a Pro integrator, ALL of my new builds will now be using the WiiM streamers and Amps! High Res Audio. Software should ALWAYS be backward compatible!! Always! This way you are not forcing anything. The user might lose a few new features, but their system will work as it always has. And I can live without getting slapped again by a simple Audio streaming platform. Plus I have found the new WiiM home streamers to sound incredible. I am not a WiiM employee or am associated with the company in ANY level, I build from scratch multimillion dollar custom homes from Pre-wire, to full networking and AV. and going forward, I’m p
My speakers are from Orb Audio, and they recommend a crossover setting of 150 Hz. The SONOS app only allows me to set the crossover as high as 100 Hz. Is there any way to bypass this setting? Or, while you guys are actively modifying the app, could you please extend the available crossover range?
I want to move my AMP to a new network. So factory reset the AMP and go in the App to add new component. It finds the AMP and after 20 seconds, when he tries to configure my App on Android crashes. I tried the same on my Ipad. There he asks the code on the bottem of the device and after adding I get a message that something went wrong. So since two days no music in my kitchen. Any suggestion what I should do and don’t say like your BOT to try the installation again. Did it in the meanwhile 20 times without succes.
