Dual Mono on new Sonos App

I just upgraded to the new Sonos App and the dual mono setting for the two Amps I run is missing.  I used this setting for single ceiling speakers in different rooms.  This has to be brought back, I can’t have the right channel playing in one room and the left in another.

So here I am just finishing setting up my outdoor system….and realizing that this isn’t working. Any ETA for the dual mono??

Sorry about your luck.  It’ll probably be a bit.

i just installed 4 Sonos amps yesterday and couldn’t believe of all things that they removed the mono option.  Crazy.

Anyone have a good work around? I have not had any problems with any of the updates until….right now

I just installed a new system with 2 Sonos amps. I'm wondering if downgrading the system to s1 and using the s1 app would be a work around. Anyone know?

You would need to setup an old Sonos connect and then  start downgrading and adding new players.i still use s1 at my home and im an AV installer. Dual mono is still there in the s1.I really don’t understand something as important as dual mono being overlooked.

I’ve not seen this problem in any of Sonos’ to do list (but could have missed it). You could try getting it on there by reporting it to Sonos, especially when you are a professional.

Thanks, glad to know it’s still there in the S1 app. I may pursue that.  Can you also confirm that even in dual mono mode, it’s still one zone control?  It such a bummer if so.  I intuitively thought with “dual” mono I’d be able to get control of those volumes separately.

Correct. 1 zone.

The release notes for today’s update suggest they have ‘fixed’ this. Have you tested?

I don’t mean to ask a separate question on this thread, but found this while looking into dual mono mode myself.  Is this mode suitable to use in single speaker situations?  I am doing a remodel and have one room where I will only have a single speaker.  I’m wondering if I need a stereo speaker or if I can just use a sonos amp I have in dual mono mode with only one speaker connected.  I was told the mono mode may be designed for TV audio signals and not music listening purposes, but have seen a lot of people seem to use it for music applications so figured I’d ask this group who clearly uses it!

I still do not see the dual mono option on my system. It has the latest software.
