Dual Mono on new Sonos App

I just upgraded to the new Sonos App and the dual mono setting for the two Amps I run is missing.  I used this setting for single ceiling speakers in different rooms.  This has to be brought back, I can’t have the right channel playing in one room and the left in another.

Yeah, my outdoor speakers need to run in mono mode to accommodate the zones I have set up, otherwise they sound terrible. The deck gets one channel and the patio gets another.

I talked with support yesterday. They claimed dual mono was a feature which would be returning as updates to the app were rolled out.

Happy to hear the feature will be returning. Here’s another vote to give it priority! This is an integral part of my business and every day adds hundreds of customers listening to shit audio, to be honest. Thanks for rushing this one :)

Is there any chance of an ETA on bringing the feature back? Thanks for monitoring these posts and keeping us informed.

Just finished installing 4 outdoor speakers and my brand new Sonos Amp…which I got specifically to run everything in dual mono mode. Of course my outdoor setup sounds really off due to the forced stereo image. Definitely NOT a good first impression for the new Amp. They can’t bring back this dual mono feature fast enough…

I have the same problem. Bought the amp because of dual moni feature and now this... Disappointed.... Never buying Sonos again!

I honestly can’t believe there is another huge mistake in this update. It’s like actual sabotage.

I am an OUTDOOR USER, and WHOLE HOME USER. I want your product managers to just think about that for a second. Can they see the problem? I’m not even going to explain why this matters. Lets me just say this - it sounds HORRIBLE.

Is this company run by Wiim project managers or something? Is this sabotage? Why are you actively destroying your product?

Agreed, the arbitrary removal of features that we’ve come to rely on is impacting our ability to recommend Sonos to clients. It’s creating a horrible customer experience, made worse by the Dual Mono issue not being addressed anywhere by Sonos.

I emailed the CEO and got an automated response that didn't make one mention of Dual Mono, despite that being my only concern in the email. I replied saying so, and have not got any response. The hold times are 70 minutes to get through to Support. No Chat is available.

The distributed home audio space is only becoming more competitive, Sonos should take better care. I hope they can get it together quickly.

So here I am just finishing setting up my outdoor system….and realizing that this isn’t working. Any ETA for the dual mono??

Sorry about your luck.  It’ll probably be a bit.

i just installed 4 Sonos amps yesterday and couldn’t believe of all things that they removed the mono option.  Crazy.
