I have the Project T1 and can’t get it to work with my 5...(note I don’t have the T1 SB, just the standard T1) Is it that I need a pre phono between the turntable and the 5? If so are there specific ones that are compatible for the 5 or are most ok?
Hi, all. I am running a Sonos Port through a Home Theatre Receiver. I believe this means the Sonos Port has a DAC that is converting the digital input to analog and sending the analog signal to the Home Theatre Receiver (which has it’s own DAC).This DAC to DAC situation can’t be great for sound quality. Is there a best practice or an optimum way to handle this situation in order to get the best sound quality? Thanks!
I have an analog cassette deck I’d like to play through a single Sonos Arc speaker (+/- Sub). I’d also like to be able to play my TV sound through the Arc as well. I know I can connect the TV direct to Arc via HDMI or optical out, but should I utilize the AMP versus PORT to mediate the connection from the analog cassette deck to the Sonos Arc? Is there an advantage or reason to connect the TV to AMP rather than directly to ARC (not an option with PORT I presume as PORT doesn’t have HDMI input). I presume the other advantage to AMP over PORT would be being able to in the future wirelessly connect to Sonos architectural speakers? basically just trying to verify that AMP and PORT would play wirelessly to Sonos Arc, and if using AMP, whether it’s better to route TV into the AMP along with the cassette deck, or just patch the TV directly into Arc. thanks!-JFish
I am trying to set the correct line-in level of my Sonos Fives when listening to vinyl.I have a Pro-Ject X1 turntable. My previous cartridge, a Pick It S2 MM, had a relatively high output voltage of 7 mV and I had set my RIAA (a Pro-Ject Tube Box S2) to the lowest possible gain of 40 dB, and then set the input level of the Five’s line-in to 1 or 2. Higher than that and I started hearing distortion. My new cartridge is a Sumiko Moonstone and it has a much lower output voltage of 3 mV, so I need to up the gain a bit. But it would be nice to know the sensitivity voltage of the Five’s amp so I can calculate the appropriate gain of my RIAA as well as selecting the optimal input level of the line-in. Does anyone here have that kind of technical insight?
Hi. I have a Connect for my separates hi fi system which is not compatible with the S2 controller. I wanted to keep up with developments & improve functionality etc so the Port, at a substantial cost, seemed the next best step. Unfortunately reviews of the Port are showing that sound quality is poorer & sound stage confused in comparison with the Connect. Is Sonos aware aware of this backward step & are they they fixing this so the Port becomes a quality product & an improvement in the sound delivery department over the Connect. Until this is so I am sticking to the Connect & the S1 app until it becomes totally useless. Thanks for any comments or advice. Keith D.
I believe that Trueplay will only work if you use the Sonos/Sonance speakers with the Amp, is that correct? If so, how does that work. I think I read that the Amp identifies a unique impedance of the Sonance speakers and enables Trueplay. Is the Sonance speaker and odd impedance? Won’t long runs if small diameter speaker wire increase impedance? I would love to use the Amp with a third party in ceiling speaker, but don’t want to lose Trueplay. Is there anyway to make this happen? If you run 2 sets of speakers off the amp you are running at 4 ohms correct? So each speaker is still seeing 125 watts.. If you use 4 Sonance speakers with one amp, can you still you Trueplay? If you pair a Sonos Sub with the Amp, can you run Trueplay? Anyone have any idea where the crossover point is set when using a Sub with Amp? Thanks all,Steve
I have 2 wall speakers, and they are connected with to the Sonos Amp. I have them hard wired into a switch that goes into the router. The sound cuts out every few minutes for 2 seconds. I tried wireless and hard wired. Any Ideas? Here is my diagnostic code: 142509174
Hi,I am new to the Sonos ecosystem and had a question regarding multiple zones typically found in an AV Receiver. If the AV Receiver has say 2 zones setup as follows:zone 1 - home theaterzone 2 - patioWould I need 2 separate Sonos Ports to setup independent zones plugged in to AV Receiver? If so, are what particular features would I need to look for when AV Receiver shopping?Thank you
It would greatly increase the value and usability for all of us with original connect amps collecting dust, trying to sell on offer up, if we could use the connect amp in ‘dumb mode’ by default. By that, I mean it starts with no network needed. Just plays whatever is coming though the line in. Could use for a lot of things that do not need a network like tv, connecting a Bluetooth adapter, etc. Requiring it to be on S1 limits all of us using the new app. Right now, I’m trying to sell this amp so I can buy an amp...
I trying to figure out if I could use the Sonos Amp to power an older pair of Bose 401 speakers and connect a TEAC TN-280BT turntable to the amp via Bluetooth. Will the Sonos Amp accept the signs from the TEAC turntable? If this works I assume I would also be able to integrate the Bose speakers connected to the Sonos Amp to my existing Sonos network?
Bonjour, j'aimerais savoir si je peux brancher l'ensemble sonos home cinema 5.1 sur le sonos amp et un lecteur cd/dvd/bluray sur le même sonos amp ? Merci
I have a Sonos beam and now I want to purchase a turntable to play vinyl. Does the beam connect via bluetooth to the turntable (assuming the turntable has a pre-amp)? Or do I need a Sonos Port or a Sonos Connect?
Have been using Port plus pair of Ones and 1 Play 1 for over 2 years. Listening the other night I paused play from my Apple watch for a couple of minutes and when I started playing again from my phone the Port had disappeared from system on phone. On my laptop the Port was still there and would play but the other speakers were not there. After doing Factory reset several time apparently successfully, I could still not add the Port to my system. By now the port had also gone from laptop, which has got the other speakers back.
Can it be sold? If yes, do I need to/is there a way to deregister it from my Sonos account? Thank you!Steve
Sonos Port has been working fine. suddenly today it is not visible in the app. yesterday it was working well. My other speakers are connecting just fine. I tried rebooting by disconnecting and reconnecting the power. then tried a reset which initially looked successful. the port was reconnected briefly but would not play and then disappeared from the app. is there anything else to try?
Hello all. Is there a way to play music from my Marantz Melody X through my Sonos speakers without having to buy another piece of equipment ? Many thanks !
My zp90 is not booting, as soon as I apply power the white light flash very quickly constantly and never changes.i tried holding buttons down and applying power but no joy, my Simon’s one with Alexa doesn’t work anymore so assuming it’s the zp90 that holds everything together on my system. any ideas would be greatthanks
Checking my speaker in the Sonos app: Everything is listed as S1, including the new One speaker I bought that is advertising as compatible with S2. With the erroneous information I am receiving, how a I supposed to know if my subwoofer or playbase is compatible? Not only is the upgrade onerous. Its haphazard.
Please flesh out the options to share a sub between two 'rooms'. I'm in the same boat as many users here and would like to share a sub, in my case, a large living room, playing music on two Play:5's as a stereo set, and a 5.1 surround with a Playbar and two play ones. The only option to share a sub between the setups is to 'unbond' the speakers, but then you lose the TruPlay saved settings and to recalibrate each time is not practical. Having the option to save the TruPlay profiles created would be amazing. I'm also taking advantage of AirPlay 2 for music which is not supported with a surround setup, hence why I have a second set just for music in the same room. Sharing a sub between two 'rooms' is perhaps an option for a future software update?
I accidentally postes a picture of a Sonos connect back sticker on an online auction. Could someone areal the trade up ising ONLY the serial? Its sold with unused trade up. Also, is the connect trade up 15% or 30% ? Thanks, Jon
Does the Sonos Connect work with Onkyo TX - NR636? If not, is there a website that shows the compatible Onkyo receivers? Please advise
Hey looking for some advice ,So we currently have a Sonos beam and have recently just purchased the Sonos one and the project t1 phono sb turntable as gifts for my partner for Christmas however I’ve since learned that they won’t connect without port or play5 is there any other alternative (cheaper) way to connect all 3 ? Would the connect amp 1/2nd gen work to link them in short term until I can bare to part with another £500 for the play5 or £400 for the port ?
I am planning to use an Amp for surround with an Arc. Can the Amp automatically switch to stereo mode if I use it to stream music? Thanks.
Hello!I’ve just installed and configured the outdoor speakers by sonance. I’ve followed the instructions to unlock the enhance audio adjustments but I don’t see them anywhere in the App.How can I see them? thanks in advanced
Hi, My Sonos2 app shows that my line-in is disconnected. I am not able to play vinyl though I do have a Sonos recommended preamp turntable. I have tried ALL the methods described on the Sonos website, and I mean all, to resolve the problem but to no avail. My Sonos2 app cannot find my Connect even though it is registered with Sonos and shows in their list of the Sonos products I own. Any one been in a similar situation and have resolved the problem?
