Let's talk about Sonos Connect, Connect:AMP, Sonos AMP, and setups using Sonance architectural, or your own speakers and components.

It says if I use Sonos amp with a wired sub along with 4 wire ceiling speakers for home theater for my TV the SUB would not work. Why is that?If I use the Sonos Wireless sub instead, then can I would it work for my TV home theater along with the 4 ceiling speakers?
I’d really like to see this feature come to AMP. The fact that it is possible for the same speakers as surrounds means it should be possible for the same speakers as mains. I get Sonos wants ppl to purchase their own speakers but this isn’t always feasible. It would be a great differentiator if this feature was added.
If using a sonos port connected to a pair of KRK active speakers can you control the volume? I have tested connecting a turntable direct to krk’s and they sound really nice. Trouble is volume on both is at the back and independent...
Professional install of amp for my garage speakers but the Sonos app shows a non-existent tv as a source and Alexa shows a tv there as well. Was the amp registered wrong or is it picking up another tv on my system? When I click on the tv source it says connection error. It also shows line in which works fine. Is there anyway to remove the tv source?
Hi. My setup: Nvidia Shield-->hdmi-->Hisense 65” smart tv-->hdmi ARC-->Sonos amp. With “passtrugh setting” on TV menu audio I can ear sound from my speaker with Kodi app but when I try to start Netflix app the sound go away.Same issue with Diney+.I try to test all setting on Shield, but I can’t solve the problem. There’s some way to fix this issue? Thanks in advance.
I have a Cambridge Topaz CD10 CD player. With the old Sonos 1 amp, this worked perfectly. However, it does not show up on the Sonos 2 app. I suspect this is due to cable connection problems. Neither the existing cable nor an RCA cable I ordered from Sonos makes the right connection: the cable jacks do not make a sufficient connection in the amp input sockets.
I purchased a 1952 Seeburg M100C jukebox. Is there a way to connect this safely to my Sonos system to hear my music throughout the house?
Hi everyone looking for a bit of advice regarding the Line-In source level.iv’e recently purchased a project esprit turntable which I’ve linked to a Sonos Port.I play it through two paired Sonos 3 speakers.my question is what would you recommend I set the source level to ?I had it at 8 and found it quite distorted.I’m currently playing it at level four but noticed there’s a big difference in sound ?any advice would be much appreciated.steven
Looking to extend music playback into my backyard just for a few hours at a time. The seating area is approximately 50’ from the house, but the stereo playback equipment is on the opposite interior side.I have an existing hardwired whole house system, so ideally I would be able to just grab a line level output from my preamp and add something like Sonos Connect with a battery powered speaker option out in the yard? I’m guessing the stock broadcast distance is too much for Connect and I would also need the Boost? If the component requirements get too crazy, I’ll just rent a trencher and run conduit out w/ 12ga wire and pick up another amp.
I have a Pioneer SX455 receiver connected to a cd player and a turntable. I would like to use a Port to play receiver output on Sonos speakers. Can I connect speakers out to line in on Port using speaker wires that are bare wire on one end and rca plug on the other?
Hi: Thanks for any insight.I am looking to upgrade my receiver.I am looking for confirmation on what the difference might be for a “Works with Sonos” certification for something like an ONKYO vs. a receiver that doesn’t have that distinction i.e. a Denon …If I purchase along with a new Sonos port, will both systems be able to join my existing Sonos network? Is the difference that I would be able to power on and control the volume of the Onkyo receiver via the Sonos app and with a Denon, I would need to power on and control volume outside of the Sonos app? Thanks for any help with anyones experience with Sonos port and or those who have a receiver that includes the “works with Sonos” distinction. Also, is the port way better than Sonos connect or will both do a similar job.
Has anyone successfully connected their turntable to a ZP100 using the Behringer PP400? I’m on my second unit and getting nowhere. I have a Dual 604 with a Shure M75ED cartridge which works fine with my separates system and I’m struggling to believe they could supply two faulty preamps!!! Any help appreciated.
Does any user have experience of the sBooster BOTW Power & Precision Eco MK II linear power supply upgrade reviewed by The Hans Beekhuyzen Channel on YouTube recently. Apparently a selection of low voltage connector adapter tips are included with the sBooster, I would like to know if one of these does fit the Port. Any information concerning the correct size pin (spec.) of the low voltage connector tip to fit the Port would also appreciated.
First of all, I am pleased with AMP (non Connect) performance (and quality) driving B&W 803 series 3 and connected 3rd party SubWoofer. But I noticed that SONOS is more focused on its ARC than recent other products. So I wonder, if we as SONOS AMP customers are left in the dark on future features/support/etc...Feature request;Phantom speaker, ability to manually focus center and or volume level. Dolby Atmos (compressed) support over Dolby Digital + AMP should be able with its memory and CPU power to wireless drive additional SONOS/Symfoniks as Atmos speakers. Some Room calibration with non SONOS speakers, distance input, db level, etc… S1 on Play5 gen1 and AMP supported HiRES 24bit/48kHz FLAC's , S2 did not bring any additional HiRES support on AMP. 24bit/192kHz FLAC support on AMP / S2So I regret I did firmware/OS upgrade from S1 to S2 on AMP.S2 did not bring any additional audio/quality support.
I'm adding a Rega Planar 1 turntable to my Sonos system. Could I get better sound using my own amplifier and Port vs. just the Amp?
Having traded up to a Port from a Connect which had an optical output to my receiver, would using a coax to optical converter lose quality? If so should I just used the analogue inputs, or is digital always the better choice? Any thoughts?
I have a upgraded my system to a Sonos Port in my living room connected to my router by Ethernet cable and connected to my amp in another room by Ethernet cable. The problem I have is that despite a very good WiFi signal in the room containing the amp, I am unable to connect to it!!! And keep getting the message “unable to connect to device, try again later”with the olde connect amp I had no problems whatsoever and I am at a loss on how to fix the problem?
Not trying to start up a flame war, but I’m genuinely at a decision point and need some opinions.I LOVE(ED?) SONOS for a long time...I probably don’t have as extensive of investment as some of you (I only have Connect:AMP, 2x Play1 and 1xPlay5)...but, investment nonetheless.Mostly, my setup does exactly what I need...I have very little interest in changes, can’t think of any new features that I need (except maybe to have Sonos stop breaking the features I have! [hello, lock screen controls?])I would like to buy myself a soundbar for Christmas (although it looks like they aren’t shipping from sonos.com until Feb’21 :( ) Hence the decision point...should I keep investing? Will Sonos let me live forevermore with my “legacy” S1 devices...until they physically stop working? I have no first hand experience with Sonos lifecycling products out. Currently, I’m seeing the 30% ‘incentive’ to rid the world of older devices. My fear, if I do nothing, in the next 18-24 months...there will ultima
I have Sonos Connect pre-installed in my apartment. There are speakers in the living room as well as the bedroom ceilings. Since the beginning both have always played together and I’ve never distinguished between the two in settings or anything. But I just noticed that the bedroom speakers are not playing any audio. I’ve also been having problems with music dropping off for several seconds and then coming back on. Can you tell me what I need to do to get the music playing again in the bedroom? Have already tried unplugging the power of the Sonos box for 10 secs and plugging back in.
I am looking for a way to connect our reciver to our sonos speakers so that we can get sound from smart TV, Dish, PS4, DVD player, etc to play over existing wired speakers and sonos speakers at the same time. I am assuming there is another component we need to connect the reciever and the sonos speakers, however after reading through the descriptions of what’s available, it’s not clear to me what I need. Any advise is appreciated.
So!!! I’m trying to get my tv to run through my Sonos system. I have a Sonos amp the older one, purely for a sub. Tv only has optical out and amp only has Rca in, so I bought a converter but can’t get sound to come through. Any help?
Is the new Sonos Port compatible with Audio Control’s Rialto Amplifier?
Hello everyone, please forgive me if my question is answered already but I search for somedays now and I cant manage to find an answer.I have two Sonos port. Each one connected to a stereo amp with HI-FI speakers in different rooms.I want to listen the music coming from a CD player that is connected to my first Sonos port(A) line in, simultaneously to both port (A ) and port (B) outputs. So play the line in from port (A) to the line out of both port (A) and port (B).I cant manage to do that.Is it possible or I am trying something that is not supported? From the app S2 I select the line in on the port (A) that the CD is connected then I try to play that to both port (A) and port (B) and nothing comes out.Is it also possible if I want to listen the CD to the room of port (B) and listen a radio station on the port (A) even when the CD is connected to the port (A) ? Thank you in advance for any suggestion
Hello, I have a Connect Turntable in my system that I’d like to give to my son (along with two Play:1) so that he can connect his turntable with built-in amp at his apartment. Will this work if these are the only components he has in his “system”? Thanks.
I can seamlessly play music through my port on my works with Sonos receiver but when I stop the music it does not automatically switch back to tv volume. I have to manually change it, why?
