Wired speaker not working with Sonos Amp

One of my wired speaker connections will not work with the turntable. I have tried switching and it is the connection at the AMP as the other speaker works when I switch. Additionally, both speakers work using a digital music service (e.g. Spotify). I have done a restart and a full reboot/reconnect and the problem persists.

Hi @jojoanddave

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

This sounds like you have a faulty audio cable between the turntable and Amp - @buzz’s suggestion will help verify if it’s true.

I hope this helps.

Have you swapped L/R at AMP’s Line-In?

I have tried switching. It “seems” like a faulty audio cable, but then how do you explain why both speakers work when I am playing off Spotify? This is only an issue for the turntable input.

Hi @jojoanddave

Spotify plays without issue because the audio cable between your turntable and your Amp is not involved. This further reinforces the idea that it is the audio cable that is faulty, and not the Amp or the speaker wires.

I hope this helps.

If it isn’t thge cable it might be one of the connectors is bad.

Had that happen on a different brand when the RCA cable got jerked hard and the connector no longer made good contact with the tip of the RCA jack.

But Spoitify plays through BOTH wired speakers. For the turntable it only plays through one. So I don’t see how it can be a cable issue if both speakers work for one source but not another.

We seem to be referring to different cables. I am referring to the cable connecting the turntable to the Amp. You seem to be referring to the cables going to each speaker.

I hope this helps.

Ah, understood. Let me try with different cables. Thank you!
