I get "song not encoded properly" every now and then, when listening to Sonos Playlist. 99% of the songs come from Apple Music.
If it isn’t repeatable by playing the same song again, there’s a good chance it’s an indication of wifi interference of some type, causing enough interruption in the speaker to properly get the data from the Apple servers.
If it can be repeated by replaying the same song, then there is something else wrong, and you should submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it.
There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.
When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your Sonos system and network.
