Quiet turntable through Port

I have a Technics SL-1210 turntable connected to a Port. The audio is very low when playing it through the Sonos system.
The audio in volume is set to 10 and the audio is uncompressed.
I’ve used my laptop with an audio cable plugged into the Port and all works well.
Any ideas or suggestions on what to do would be really helpful.

It sounds like your turntable does not have a built in preamp.  Since Sonos does not a phono port (which would be a preamp) you’ll either need to get a separate preamp between your turntable and port or get a turntable that has a preamp.

Your laptop is working fine because it sends a proper line level audio signal without a need for preamp.

Thanks, that makes sense. I will try a pre-amp.

Make sure the one you get matches your turntable, moving magnet or moving coil, or a switchable one for future flexibility.
