Continuing problems finding system on app

I had a pair of 5’s, a pair of Ones, and a new Beam. Almost immediately after setting up the system, I starting having issues finding the system components. I was connecting to a mesh network via Netgear Orbi satellites which provide great WiFi throughout my small home. None of the speakers were wired.

Speakers are all located on the same floor within 40ft of each other.

Samsung Note 10 phone with SONOS app.

Recently, I added a Boost in hopes of fixing my issues.

I reset all of my SONOS speakers to provide a clean start. I added my Boost first. Then each of the 5 speakers one by one. Everything went well and for about 10 minutes I could see all of my speakers. I went back to work in my office and checked again. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to see any of my system components for the last few hours regardless where I am in the house.

I’m ready to put the whole system on Craigslist. The most annoying system I’ve ever dealt with.

Please help.

Ken,

I have 4 routers on the LAN technically. Three in bridge mode mode including the one the Orbi is tied to. 3 bridges tie into the router connected to the WAN in the garage where the FTTH comes in. The WAN based router acts as the only DNS server. So the other routers defer to the top level router for all IP assignments and traffic routing. Should be perfect.

All that said, I fixed the problem finally by taking the SONOS system off of the Orbi network and instead connecting using the WiFi from the main router.

Thanks all for the help.

The Boost only helps if it is hardwired to the main hub of your Netgear Orbi.  If you run it wireless, or connected to the satellites, it will make things even worse.

Thanks for that. I’ve got it hard wired to the same router as the Orbi master, but not to the Orbi itself. I’ll try that.

So is that two routers on the LAN (Double NAT?), or have you put the non-Orbi router into bridge mode?

See this link: https://www.techadvisor.com/how-to/network-wifi/what-is-bridge-mode-3799038/

I’m wondering if this is ‘perhaps’ where your problem might be?
