Hi I have a Sonos s16 amp (2018)

squirrel blew transformer (yeah would you believe it) hence power surge poping my amp.
traced it back to L1 resistor/ diode on main board.
can someone help me with what should I replace it with. Kind Regards Noel

Sorry everyone. It’s L2.

Hi there,

I have the exact same issue. After a power outage a few days ago my Sonos Amp popped…..blowing L2.

Anyone have a good suggestion?

Hi, Noeliemac, L2 look like is the fuse

I have same problem, but the IC chip U3 blowup and I couldn't read the number. can you please get me that part number?

Thank you

Hi. - I really wish Sonos would make a service manual available, I’m trying to fix my Amp at the moment too. I can help you with identifying these items though:
U3 is marked with U28881 05K CP6S - it looks like it’s manufactured by Texas Instruments. I think this might be the part: https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ucc28881.pdf?ts=1693682774913&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.google.com%252F

As for L2 - I guess it’s just a small inductor - It is a surface mount part with no markings on it at all…

On mine R1262 was blown, but luckily the code was still just about visible - I made it out to be “102” which is a 1Kohm resistor.

Blown inductors and resistors are usually the victims of larger failures, likely a shorted transistor, voltage regulator, or capacitor. Unless you identify the original failure the replacement inductor or resistor will burn up too.
