I've successfully set up my new Sonos playbar with my Android (Samsung Phone). My partner also wants to use the playbar but when I tried to re-run the Sonos app on the second phone it wasn't set up successfully. Does anyone know how to set up 2 phones to use the same Sonos device? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Hi, I have recently moved to a college where there is one wifi network for everyone to use. A couple of people have added their Sonos to this network already, which means that I can't add my Spotify account to the network. It is quite annoying that the others are able to control my Sonos, and I am able to control theirs, since I sometimes accidentally select the wrong one, and they do the same. How do I get my Sonos on its own network/channel so that only I can control my Sonos, and my Spotify account can be added to the network? Thank you!
I have a subwoofer and a pair of Play 3s in my living room for music. Today I added a Playbar and an additional pair of Play 3s for surround to support my TV. How can I configure my system so I can choose between the 2 front Play 3's + Sub OR the Playbar+Sub+Surround (no Play 3s). How can I set up the system to support these 2 configurations with the single sub? Thanks.
I have just moved into a house which has a system fitted. We have 6 zones with built in celling speakers in each room, there are two connect:amps in one place and a connect in the living room. Along with three sonos controllers around the house. I can't get the living room zone to play, unplugging the connect removes the zone from the list I can send music to the zone but no output. I can also send different music at different volumes to all the other zones but still get no output in the living room Any ideas??
I know this question has been asked but just to check. I have a play 1 which I set up through wifi. Didn't have any cables in the box. I now want to take the speaker to another house fir the day then come back home and use as norm. I have created playlists through Spotify. Do I just set up with wifi there when I get there? Thanks
I have a Sonos Connect-Amp but seem to need more power and am planning to switch to a Connect with a separate amp. I also use a speaker selector box with built-in volume control. I currently have six zones and am going to expand to eight. I'd like to get a good amp that won't break the bank but will give me 100 watts/channel or more. Seems that I need to double the power of the Connect-Amp or it's not worth the trouble. One other requirement is that the amp must be auto-sensing -- it has to turn on/off with the Sonos. I've done some searching and found some old threads but am curious as to what others are using now.
I have an open plan apartment where the living room and kitchen are semi connected. In the kitchen I have a play 5 and ind the living room I have a playbar and a sub. The living room is hooked up to the TV. I often play music grouped but it would be awesome if I could have stereo with the kitchen as on side and the living room as the other. Is that possible?
Hi My son is about to start university and will have access to the college internet through an ethernet port. I have read previous threads on access in such situations but wonder if this specifically should work : BTHomeHub5 - disabled WIFI both frequencies; ethernet wired to access point. Play 1 and laptop ethernet wired to BTHH5. Will laptop be able to control Play1? Alternatively, if Play1 ethernet wired to access point, can laptop or android phone connected to WiFi control the unit? John
Video half way down http://www.theverge.com/2016/5/18/11702284/google-home-io-2016-ai-voice-search-advertisement Is it me, or is it the over the top American thing, but half way through I became annoyed. Perhaps because the family were talking to google more than each other!!!
Dear Sonos: First of all, I need to admit that your quality sound is amazing, but the interface....well... it's horrible, a mistake....and I suppose everyone knows that. So, what exactly are you trying to solve about this? I can imagine with: 1. Spotify App? 2. Amazon Alexa? I have named these because you're developing in these apps. 1. Spotify When i use Spotify on my Smartphone, I'm able to use the equalizer, music quality, etc. When I use Spotify to control my Sonos, i can't use the equalizer on Spotify, so? Must I use the Sonos App? and....I don't understand, are you developing a new way to control your Sonos, but with limitations? And worst? I just bought my Playbar and Sub, I just wanted an excellent Sonos App like the Sonos Audio. 2. Amazon Alexa I don't understand when you say on August 2016: Beginning in 2017, anyone with an Alexa-enabled device — right now that's the Echo, Echo Tap, or Echo Dot — will be able to control Sonos speakers with voice commands.
I have a system with 3 zones - Kitchen has a ZP10, Bedroom has a ZP100 and Living Room a ZP90 through an amp. I can link Kitchen and Bedroom together fine, but if i try and link Kitchen or Bedroom with Living Room, the Living Room will not play. Even if all zones are separated I can't play one thing in Living Room and another in Bedroom or Kitchen (Living Room cuts out when I try). However, I can play different music in Bedroom and Kitchen with no problem. Any help would be much appreciated as to how I get Living Room linking again.
We just built a home and have three areas of existing speakers in the ceiling. Two speakers in the dining room, two in the kitchen and two outside on the deck. They are all wired to one location in our pantry. There will not be a tv or anything in there. What can I get to hook up to them so I can play music? Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!
I AM NOT ABLE TO USE MY SONOS RIGHT NOW BECAUSE IT IS TELLING ME I NEED TO DO AN UPDATE. MY PROBLEM IS THAT I DO NOT CURRENTLY HAVE INTERNET ACCESS. SO IT WILL NOT LET ME DO THE UPDATE. I CAN'T EVEN LISTEN TO THE MUSIC THAT IS ON MY PHONE WITH MY SONOS RIGHT NOW. IS THERE ANYWAY TO BYPASS THE UPDATE SO I CAN AT LEAST LISTEN TO MY MUSIC??
we were installing a Ups and this meant the power to Sonos kept dropping which I think caused it to reset. I have lost all the services and playlists. Even more strange when I try to add services it only shows last. fm and nothing else?
Brought my bridge in from the RV to update it (it doesn't get the update out there for some reason). Bridge fired up ok, but I'm not seeing it in Help, About, and therefore it won't prompt me for the update. Yes, it is plugged into the router as always, only this time I'm not seeing it in Help, About. Diagnostic is 6605297. Thank you.
I have 5 PLAY:1 speakers that I got through my employers reward program. I love them, they work great for music (I have Apple Music and Tune-In Radio)! However, budget is tight and I would like to connect a couple of these PLAY:1 speakers to my HDTV or AppleTV 3rd or 4th Gen for better sound than just my TV's built-in audio. I am not necessarily looking for surround sound and I cannot afford the PLAYBAR. I've read online of some lesser expensive solutions using a PLAY:5 or CONNECT due to them having LINE-IN ports. My question is, can you connect 2 PLAY:1 speakers to a PLAY:5 that goes directly to HDTV/AppleTV similar to the PLAYBAR's ability to do the same? Another thought was to use the CONNECT (not AMP since the PLAY:1's are powered) and connect it to the HDTV and connect the PLAY:1 speakers to the CONNECT via ethernet switch ports since the connect is wirelessly connected to SONOSnet. Again, I am not looking for surround necessarily. I just finished my basement and have
I am potentially moving to the USA in the next few months and want to take my play3's with me (I have three) I just have the units and no connecting AMPS. Will I be able to use the Play 3's over there by using an adaptor or will I need to buy new main's leads or will the change in wattage mean new units! Keen to avoid the last one if possible. Just not sure if they are made universally and then just different country adapters supplied? All advice gratefully received.
