CONNECT -> 5.1 (P Elite) stereo. I have no easy way to get speaker wire from the front of the room to the back. For music played through Sonos Connect, is it possible for L,C,R & sub to go through the receiver, and rear L&R to go from Connect to Sonos1s in the back of the room? Thanks.
Have not seen this standard anywhere, it does not fit on usual suspects, PC mainboards pci-e, pci and it's way too big for any laptos, is it some industrial std or what, label do not give even partial hits. Maybe it's custom made card for Sonos, it's is possible but very expensive. One this interests me, how are they able to keep hackers out and users in, if they would use std computer parts, they be hacked within first 48 hours. Custom parts keeps huzzlers out and customers in because that is the hardest part, maintaining loyal user base that generates steady income and positive cash flow. Hello Fellow Sonos users!!! Just bought mine CONNECT used and had a thought that would use separate voltage supply that is free of all interferences and also would keep the unit cooler. Well, I measured all voltage leads and one is full of nothing, black is ground, red is 3.3V, yellow is 15V and brown is full zero and nothing seems to switch it on, tried using pre-out with max volume, coax out, ethernet connectors and wlan and still brown keeps silent. Would some one know what it should have or is it used on somekind of monitoring or transformer switching?
I have been looking into and reading a lot about the beta for the amazon echo for a while now and believe I have signed up to be a part of it a while again now. I haven't had any response from anyone with it so I am guessing there must have been something I missed or that simply I might not have done what was required. Can anyone point me in the right direction on this matter?
This is how I am using wireless headphones with my Sonos... My system consists of a Playbar, a Sub and two Play 1s I have a Tivo Roamio, Xbox, Apple TV and BluRay player all hooked up via digital optical into 4:2 Toslink switcher. A single digital optical out goes to the playbar. This switcher configuration allows 5.1 from the playbar. I have used this setup without issue for the last year. I recently had a need for headphone support. So I added a 1:3 Toslink splitter. Instead of the playbar, the single output from the switcher now is the input for the 1:3 splitter and one output goes digital audio to the playbar and a second output goes digital audio into the Sennheiser RS 175 RF wireless headphone. When I want to use the headphones I simply mute or volume down the Sonos and put on the headphones. (The Sennheisers don't like the Dolby Digital output from the Roamio so I have to change the Roamio's output to PCM then all is golden) Hope this is helpful.
I have recently joined the community of very pleased Sonos customers. I bought 4 Play 1s and a Bridge around the Thanksgiving weekend. I had it all up and running in less than 30 minutes. For the first time I experienced music on our first floor no matter what room I was in. I quickly ordered 3 Play 3s and 4 more Play 1s. My Bride and I are both in agreement it is amazing and so relaxing in our home. About 30 minutes before bedtime we shut down all technology except Sonos and I switch to a classical music station and our children calm down and smoothly go to bed. In the morning we turn on music that gets our little blessings up and moving It is great. My question that I want to ask is, I have 3 sound bar subwoofer set ups for our 3 large televisions (Master bedroom, Family room, Basement/Rec Room) Is there anyway for them to be connected with the Sonos system and still be connected to the TVs. I connect them all with a fiber optic to their TV. The 2 Boston Acoustic systems
I recently purchased the 5.1 Sonos package in Canada and will be relocating my belongings to Europe in a month. I would like to bring my equipment with me. Do you know if I can order a new set of European power cables for my speakers (or) if the speakers will be able to handle the higher wattage in Europe? I don't want to purchase power adaptors for each speaker as I would ideally like to have EU cables.
I have just added a new sonos 1 and it is working out smoothly I'm used to that when I turn on my Sonos 1 with the top button, then the previously played playlist will go on automatically.. This is not happening with my newly added Sonos1... How can I make this happen?
We had some people staying in our house and I think they linked my Sonos to their account. Now I've tried to link our system back to mine, but every time I open the controller I get an error message saying something isn't linked - the bridge. I click on 'Let's fix it' but it doesn't work. The bridge is plugged in with internet and it can play music, so I don't know why it can't be linked. Any ideas? Thanks!
I'd like to add wired speakers to my Sonos system. These will be the only speakers in the room (my home office) and will be used for playing alternative rock, classical and opera from vinyl and CDs. Can someone suggest good quality speakers I may be able to find used in the $500 range? Thank you. ps: I already have an Amp.
Started a new thread for this.... In my old house I had a 6 zone Sonos system with Sonos Connect Amps powering a pair of speakers in each room. Worked great no issues and everyone in the family loved it...fast forward we just moved....in this new house we just purchased most every room has a single mono speaker wired with 2 wire from the ceiling to a wall volume control and then 4 wire (but only using one pair) going back to a central location. I was hoping to reuse my connect amps but very much NOT waning to cut drywall and run new 4 wire from each wall control to every mono speaker) do I have any options here? I was also willing to replace the mono speaker with dual input stereo speaker (that would accept 4 wire, 2 pairs). The house was build in 2005 but I still can't believe they saved much money on cheaping out on the lack of 4 wire to every speaker. After doing some research, I think the fact I dont have that 4 wire from wall switch to each speaker really limits me with at leas
Hi there, I have just purchased a play 5 and want to connect a turntable to it, should I go for a Flexon vinylplay or a Rega RP1 with a pre amp? If it's the RP1 which amp would you recommend? Obviously I would like the best sound possible for about that kind of money, any help or advice will be appreciated. .
I have a ZP120 that I purchased many moons ago (I think in 2010, so it's 7 years old). It's been working great but very recently it just started malfunctioning. It will start to play music, and then after a minute or two it will just stop (and disappear from the controller). After a bit it comes back on-line and I can start playing music again but it then drops off again. I'm currently unable to access the device via the hardwired interface (either cat-5 port), but if I disconnect the ethernet and go wireless (SonosNet to other Sonos devices I have), it gets an IP and I can see it in the controller. I at first suspected maybe an IP conflict, but tested by moving the ZP120 to it's own stand-alone router (a 4-port firewall I had sitting around) and it doesn't want to pick up a DHCP address on the ethernet interface for some reason (rebooted and all that). I went back on SonosNet and accessed the Support Info web page (http://IP:1400/support/review) and poked around a bit. I noti
I have a play3 and a Sub in my living room and i am considering to buy the playbar, both for TV as well as for music. With my living room it would be too much to have another play1 or play3 there, so i am wondering: can i stull get a kind of 5.1 experience when linking these 3 components together when watching a movie? Or would it technically not even be possible just to add one play3 to the playbar?
I'm sure there are numerous topics that have my answer, or at least very similar situations that I could probably come to a reasonable conclusion, but I want to ask my specific situation so I get an idea before making some purchases. I bought an Akai BT500 bluetooth turntable and two Bose Soundtouch 10 speakers. Long story short, those speakers wouldn't connect. So, I got talked into buying two Play3 speakers and a CONNECT. I have my turntable plugged into the CONNECT and able to listen to my two Play3 speakers in different rooms just fine. I understand this defeats the purpose of having a bluetooth enabled turntable. However, my question is, if I were to decide to make an investment in the Playbar and a some Play1 speakers, etc to give my living room surround sound from my TV, would I be able to connect either my turntable or my TV setup (this one seems more impractical and improbable) to the CONNECT via bluetooth with some sort of bluetooth adapter, transmitter, or receiver? The r
Hi I have 2 playbars, 1 sub, 4 play 3s, 1 play 5, and 6 play 1s, along with 2 connects, 2 Boosts and a bridge. For the last month the app fails to recognise or show ANY line in options - i jusy get the waiting circle. It can see the play 5 and and both connects - but i cant see these inputs in the "line in" option of the app (ios or windows app - both do the same). I cant play anything through the input on the Play 5... Any thoughts? Andrew

My system consists of Boost, Stereo Pair Gen2 Play5, Connect and five Play1s,. I have Sonosnet set to channel 11 and my home 2.4ghz network (ASUS RT-66 Merlin Firmware) set to channel 1. Channel 6 is always congested. My immediate neighbour has a Sky router that must be set to Auto as it is regularly changing channel, causing me dropouts. Sonosnet does not appear as a continuous signal, popping up on inSSIDer as multiple connections when Sonos is playing but only occasionally when not playing. My questions are: Is there a way of having Sonosnet active continuously so as to block my neighbours Auto wanderings? My 2.4ghz channel 1 home WiFi is little utilised, but appears as a constant signal and as most of my other devices are connected to the 5ghz WiFi so can I have Sonosnet co-existing on channel 1 without too much issue or is the mere presence of a signal from my 2.4ghz WiFi going to cause me lots of problems? ? I wish Sonos would consider using 5ghz for Sonosnet (not just for 5
