I just bought a pair of Era 100’s from Costco and paired them with my AppleTV. Right now I can only control the speakers with the app on my phone. Is it possible to pair them with the AppleTV remote? When I try it wants me to use the Sonos remote to learn to pair but the Era 100’s don’t come with a remote.
Paired them how? If you’re using AirPlay 2, no, the Apple Remote doesn’t control that.
If you’re using some sort of line out from the TV to connect to a line in on the Era 100s, it’s possible, but more detail is needed.
Unfortunately, the Sonos Era series are not designed to be used as TV speakers, except as surrounds. Sonos reserves the ‘main’ speaker for the Sonos Ray, the Sonos Beam, and the Sonos Atc Ultra, all which connect to the TV directly.
Yes I’m trying to control the Era speakers with my remote wirelessly. The speakers are plugged in to the left and right of the tv but not directly to the tv or AppleTV.
Sorry, how do you mean ‘plugged in’, but not to the TV? Are you using AirPlay 2 to connect them to the Apple TV? If so, the first paragraph in my first response would be applicable.
If you’re using the line in on your Sonos Era 100s, we would need to know what output that line in is connected to.
You may want to call Sonos Support to discuss it.
When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.
