Question

Voice Control - Play a playlist that is music from my personal library

I have no interest in streaming services at all.

ALL I want to do is use my voice to get my sonos to shuffle play all the music on my NAS.

That’s it.  Simple.  or it should be.

I created a play list of all my music.

I say ‘Sonos play [x] paylist’

It bitches about not having a service connected?

WTF?

Did you find what you were looking for?

What have you done for the last 8 months, which is when you joined the forums? I assume you’ve used your system in that time.

Even if you don’t use it, what happens if you add a music service and then say “Hey Sonos play [x] playlist”?

I have delt with it and I had my system before I created an account.  At least it will skip/pause by voice once the play list is playing.  I’ve also stupidly expanded my system to where it’s now very inconvenient to have to stop and go inside to get my music playing (FWIW, I am not a carry my phone at my hip person - I don’t carry it period at home).

It’s a pain point.  This system costs too much to not work.   I am attempting to determine if it’s time to bail and find something else but I’m also not really finding anything to replace it with.

I’d rather fix the problem.

I had Spotify attached for my daughter.   It consistently attempts to find a song matching the name of the play list on Spotify.  I have tried everything I could think off.   Gave the play list different types of names.  Tried variations of the command.   For some reason, Sonos now feels like google - trying to force us into a streaming service by paying lip service to those of us that don’t want to.  Why, I cannot imagine - maybe someone’s getting a kick back.  Nothing would surprise me at this point.
