Question

Sonos will not play TV sound

My TV sound (through a DAC converter) shows in my Sonos system as a source (Line-in), and when pressed it does show a signal (signal symbol fluctuates), but no sound comes. This has worked in the past but has stopped working some time ago. I have tried a lot (swap optical cable, power resets, adjust settings in app) but nothing works. When removed the Line-In source disappears so it is evident that it is correctly connected. Any tips??

Call Sonos support and let them investigate?

The animated “music” icon means nothing about any signal, it will still animate if you feed it silence.

Have you connected the DAC to another device, to rule it out of the equation, and the TV too? Many things in this path can cause a problem.

Good to know the icon, although moving, is just an automated animation. Tested with another TV but will def try to connect another device to the DAC to see if the issue is prior to the SONOS set-up
