I have an install with a Samsung TV, Arc ultra, sonos amp with 2 ceiling mounted surround speakers. I can use the rear speakers when playing through the Sonos app but no sound from the rear with TV usage. I thought I would hear surround sound. Thoughts/help appreciated

Have you setup your amp as surround speakers?

if that’s been done, and you still don’t hear any audio from the surround speakers, then it’s likely that your audio source, the TV program you’re watching, isn’t coded in surround sound.

Do your test of TV surround on a known good source, many claim to be surround but aren't.

I agree with @melvimbe only more strongly so. If you can access the in-ceiling speakers (Amp) via the app then they are not configured as surrounds. They are still acting as a separate room.

When configured as surrounds the Amp is only visible in the room with the Arc Ultra. Additionally none of the ports on the Amp to connect a turntable or CD player are active.

Also, grouping the Amp to the Arc Ultra will not play surround content. In fact groping speakers to any Sonos soundbar is not recommended for TV audio as there will be a 75ms delay causing an echo effect. However you can group speakers to a Sonos soundbar for music an there is no 75ms delay.
