That does seem strange. The fact that a speaker is connected via an optical cable should not influence the visibility of the speaker in the app. Could you post a screen shot of your app both with the Ray connected and with the Ray disconnected?

Hi @Carte

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

I’m sorry to hear of this issue you are having with the Ray disappearing from the App when the optical cable is connected to the TV.

This definitely should not be happening. I recommend you get in touch with our technical support team who have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your Sonos system and what it reports.

I hope this helps.

Thanks. To simplify, when optical cable is not connected to the TV everything works perfectly. Ray appears in the app and I can control it. When optical cable is connected, the TV sound works but ray is no longer connected in the app ecosystem.

That’s very strange. As has been suggested try calling Sonos Tech support to see what they have to say.
