Reccomendations for Era 300 wall placement

Hello there!

I need your advice on where to place my new Era 300 on the back of my couch.
After some reading I would place them where the green “Xs” are on the picture. Please disregard the crazy red circles.

They are both:
- 1.5mt from the floor (about 5ft)
- 1.2mt from the ceiling (4ft)
- 2mt from each end of the couch (6.5ft)
- 1mt back from the couch (3.2ft)

What do you guys think?

Cheers from Italy!

Left X is a bit buried in the corner, right X is going to be sending a lot of sound off into that open space. Both seem a bit far apart too, not likely to fill in the rear soundstage, similar to the issues when front speakers are too far apart and the stereo image fails to appear.

I'd lean to beside the kitchen door, as far apart, but centered on the couch, as possible. Ear level when seated would be best. The stair treads shouldn't disrupt the Atmos height too badly.

I'd also think about stands over a wall mount so you can explore different positions for sound your ears prefer. That is always the best option, guessing and drilling not so much.

You are describing my exact initial thoughts.

Stands are not an option, as I have a running 4yo kid that would hit them the moment I place them. Other issue is the lack of power outlets anywhere near the couch, meaning running cables straight on the floor.

I will check the option to place them on the wall, next to each side of the kitchen opening.

Thank you!

Temporary stands, ladders, stools, plywood will let you evaluate positioning before wall mounting.

Switch the kid to decaf and lower their sugar intake during your testing. :-)
