Nothing works. I can't add my Sub Mini

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

I've been trying to get this thing added for days and nothing works. I've done reset after reset. Tried physically connecting it through Ethernet (I'm tech savvy, I have gigabit Internet with a solid router). I can get the setup to find the sub and begin the process of adding it. When I lay my phone on top of it, it recognizes it. Then, it's just stuck on this with no end in sight. The two times it's gotten past this, it asks me for my WiFi password and then failed to connect. I tried both my 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz SSIDs. Sonos, what gives?!

I also wonder if perhaps your Sub is stuck in a halfway set up state, it might be worth performing a factory reset on it, just to be uber cautious.

As a random thought, the Sonos speaker it will eventually be bonded to needs to have its radio turned on, too, so the Sub can ‘see’ it. I don’t know what happens when setting up a sub when there is no signal for it to latch on to.

Of course, I’d be remiss if I didn’t also mention you may want to call Sonos Support directly to discuss it. When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

What device are you bonding your Sub Mini to?

None yet, I don't think I can pair it to anything until I've first added it to my system/home, that's the step I can't get through

@FireTrucksAtNight

Can you try to connect the Sub Mini via lan cable directly to the router for setup instead of connecting to a switch?

Do you use a firewall or pi-hole on your network that might prevent the device from updating during setup?

I am connected straight to a router, no switch, no firewalls/pi-holes, it's a router connected straight to my modem (ONT) with nothing other than the standard WiFi settings changed to configure a password; I didn't even change the WiFi name.

You don’t ‘pair’ it to anything, you ‘bond’ it to a room. It’s been a while since I added a Sub to my system, but using S2, I’d think you’d go to the ‘room’ where you want to add the Sub, and use the ‘Connect Sub’ process.
