I have the following setup.

Apple TV Connected to TV using a HDMI Port. | Sonos ARC Ultra connected to TV using the HDMI eARC port.

Everything works fine via CEC, I am able to control the volume and TV Power ON/Off using the Apple TV remote. Most of the time during the day usage, when I switch on/off the TV it goes to the standby mode and wakes up quickly.

However, in the morning after 8-10 hrs of sleep time, when I power on the Apple TV , the TV restarts [shut down and starts] . I have tried switching the HDMI cable & performed HDMI refresh also, didn't resolve the issue. This doesn't happen when I connect the Sonos ARC Ultra to the Apple TV using the AirPlay, so I assume this is to do with the HDMI connection. 

Looking for a solution here. 

I’d try a couple of things, since I don’t think it has anything to do with the Sonos.

Check your TV for updates, and apply them. Then, even if there are none, unplug the TB from power for two minutes, then plug it back in. Don’t use the remote to do this, you must remove the power.

Next, check your Apple TV for updates, and apply the,. Do the same power cycle.

It wouldn’t hurt to power cycle the Sonos, but I wouldn’t expect any change.

If you’re still having issues, contact the CS group for your TV, who should, hopefully, be able to see where the CEC command for a restart is coming from.

Yours is not a Sonos issue.

In your AppleTV (ATV) menu you can turn off “Control TVs and Receivers” located under Remotes and Devices. You can also disable CEC settings for the HDMI port to which the ATV is connected.

My ATV remote will turn my LG TV on/off as well as switch to the proper HDMI input when turning it on. Likewise I can use my LG magic remote to control my ATV.

As to why your TV does a restart when turning on your ATV appears to be the signal being sent twice 🤔 Suggest you contact tech support for your brand of TV as they make have a solution.
