How to connect ceiling speakers to Connect

Hi everyone, and apologies in advance for my stupidity, but getting very confused…

We have just bought a new house which has ceiling speakers installed in the kitchen. The previous owner of the house advised that you needed an amp in order to play them. Thinking I was being smart, I took a photo of the amp (Sonos Connect:Amp Gen 2) that the previous owner had, and bought one thinking that would do the trick!

However, I am mystified on how to connect it. The speakers have loose wires that go into the cupboard that the amp is housed in, but there is no way that I can see to connect to the amp. I read on the Sonos site that they should connect using banana plugs so I ordered some off the Sonos website but they are too big for the holes at the back.

What am I doing wrong and how do I connect my speakers and play music?!?

Grateful for any advice any of you can offer!

This is the wrong product. You should be using a CONNECT:AMP.  Note that both the CONNECT that you are attempting to use, and the CONNECT:AMP are discontinued products. The current product for your use would be the AMP.

If you want to continue with your CONNECT, You’ll need to add a power amplifier.
