Android app volume control

Volume level slide bar will appear but an attempt to adjust volume makes it vanish or on occasion the slide bar won't appear at all. Anyone else have this issue? Resolution? Also any way to get the volume level number to appear on the tv screen? It sure is irritating to have to open the app just to see what level I am at.

I don’t know about the first question, as I’m an Apple user,

About the second question, when I’m watching TV I know the volume because it appears in the TV using the remote control (I don’t use the Sonos app in this case). Listening music, my TV is off, then the only way is to use the app, ask Sonos Voice Control if installed or forget the number if you’re happy with the volume you’re feeling 😅

Volume level doesn't appear on my tv. Knowing the level I am feeling let's me know where to go in the future.

But I think it’s something related to the TV. Could you see it when you set the volume with the remote control? Which bar have you attached to the TV?

As to you first question make sure you device and app are up to date.

To your second question the volume indicator that appears on your TV is not a function of any Sonos sound bar. Your remote sends the signal to the TV and back to the soundbar the TV decides how to interpret what the soundbar send back to the TV for a visual volume indicator. For example using my TV remote the volume indicator is a plus (+) and minus (-) symbol. Using my Apple TV remote the volume indicator is a vertical sliding bar. My advice is to ignore what's on the TV screen as a volume indicator and let your ears be the deciding factor.

I'm using a Roku remote to control all, this must be the issue. Would have been nice to have an led screen on the arc ultra for this and other features. IMO being too reliant on an app is bad news particularly when inet goes down or app bugs out.

First issue with app still needs a fix. My phone and the app are up to date. That is not the issue.

I agree that a blind trust on an app could be fatal. On the other hand, I can’t imagine the nice design of the Arc Ultra marred by a led screen 😅. Perhaps a small one hidden… but then not useful for you.

Reading through this forum and measuring the experience and quality against the price, I have decided not to go down the Sonos road. It’s going back to the store. Hopefully in the future they will listen more to the consumer and think through all the variables when developing their next product.

If for you is more important the volume number than the quality of sound, you’ve done the best. The most important is to have something that fit our needs.
