Question

Alexa no longer plays any music

About 4 weeks ago Alexa says “playing Jimmy Buffet on Pandora, hmmmm I’m having trouble playing that right now”

Disconnected my router, unplugged my Sonos speakers, unlinked then relinked Amazon music and Pandora in the Alexa app, deleted the Alexa app and reinstalled it. Can’t get Alexa to play any music.
Anyone have similar problem? Or fix?

Hello @DannoBelt, welcome to the Sonos Community!

I am sorry to hear you are having an issue controlling your Sonos system with Amazon Alexa.

There is currently an outage for Amazon Alexa, keep an eye out on our Sonos Status page for any updates.

If, after the outage is resolved, you are still experiencing issues, have a look at our Support page Alexa commands not working on Sonos and more specifically the fix below:

Re-enable the Sonos skill

Open the Alexa app and select the More menu from the bottom toolbar. Go to Skills & Games → Sonos → Disable Skill. Once disabled, choose Enable Skill.

This will refresh the connection between your Sonos and the Amazon Alexa cloud.

I hope this helps.

Thank you. I had an Amazon dot, plugged that in and it played Pandora fine. So it seemed the issue was on the Sonos side. I deleted Alexa from each speaker in the Sonos app. Then added Alexa to each speaker and that fixed it! So frustrating to figure out where things broke after an update.
