Trying to connect a Roam 2 to my tplink vr1600v without any luck.  

No settings changed on the router, just the standard WPA/WPA personal security in 802.11b/g/n mixed mode. 

Has anyone had any luck doing this?  

I don’t have that router, but I had no issue adding a Roam to my router.

What other Sonos speakers are you running, that are currently connected to your router?


At the moment that is the only speaker.

 

just moved onto a new place and will eventually have an arc ultra and probably another roam.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble setting up your Sonos Roam. 

Does the Sonos app give you any error messages during the setup of the Roam? If so, please post a screenshot or let us know what the error says so the community and I can help troubleshoot. If you aren’t getting any error messages, then let us know on what step of the Roam’s setup is it failing to connect. 

I would recommend checking out our article for products not found during setup and following the steps listed in there to see if they resolve this issue for you.
