I have concerns regarding the possibility of replacing my SONOS ONE Surrounds with SONOS ERA 300s because I do not use a Sound Bar.  I do use two hard wired Klipsch book shelf speakers as the front speakers with a Klipsch 12” Subwoofer.  These sound great together so I dont want to screw it up.  Any similar concerns or experience with this proposed design using the ERA 300s?

The Era 300s can only be used as surrounds with a Sonos Arc, Arc Ultra, or Beam (Gen 2).

Maybe use Fives?

On a tiny screen tonight so I can't easily read the manuals to confirm that.

Thanks. Is that well documented in Sonos literature?

From the Era 300 product page FAQ:

Which soundbars can I use with Era 300 for surround sound?

Because Era 300 is a multichannel rear speaker, it requires a Sonos soundbar that supports Dolby Atmos, i.e. Arc or Beam (Gen 2). For this reason, Era 300 is not compatible with Playbar, Playbase, or Beam (Gen 1).

You are using the speakers with a Sonos Amp, I presume?

Yes, I use AMP as the master for everything. I forgot to mention that. It’s unfortunate that to use the ERA 300s as surround speakers a Dolby Atmos soundbar is required.  That sure adds up $ wise and I’ve seen some comments from SONOS users that ARC is not up to their sound quality expectations.

The Amp is a two channel device.  It doesn’t even have the circuitry required to process Atmos.
