Sonos Boost port ...

Hello,

Can I use the available port on the Sonos Boost as a regular ethernet switch and, thus, use it to extend my network coverage or is it to use only with any other Sonos devices ?

Thanks in advance.

You can use the other port on the Boost for a non-Sonos device.

The bandwidth is limited to 100Mbps when using the Boost port.

Yes, you can.

Considering that you can get an Ethernet switch that won’t impact your Sonos system for only a few bucks using the second Sonos port doesn’t seem a good idea to me.

Far too easy to overload the limited 100Mbps connection when you hook up a device designed for current LAN standards to it.

Like one of these:  (check the Sonos compatible hardware list too)
