We have recently moved to a new house and as part of signing up to a new ISP we were provided an 2 x Eero 6+ routers. I have one Eero connected to the NTD (modem) and another in the living room as an extender. Having read through a bunch of posts on this community, I see Eero are very hit and miss with Sonos.

Ultimately I will be looking to connect

1 x Sonos Sub

1 x Sonos Beam

2 x Sonos One

At the moment I just have the Ones unboxed, ready to set up as a stereo pair.

I am able to add each speaker using the S2 app, however when it comes to finalising set up, neither speaker is able to update which stops the process.

As a workaround I connected one speaker to the Eero in the Living Room via Ethernet and left the other wireless. The issue I’m having now is I can only connect to the speakers through the Sonos App, I can’t direct play music from spotify or any other apps.

Any suggestions to fix the issues? Ideally I would like a fully wireless set up for the Sonos i.e. no speakers connected via ethernet.

So I managed to find a solution.

I have connected one speaker to one of my Eeros to create SonosNet. The remaining speakers are wireless.

On my mobile phone, I have two options to connect to my WiFI

  1. SSID
  2. SSID via Eero

My phone auto connected via the SSID as that is what it would have previously connected to with the old router. Choosing the SSID via Eero fixed my issue. I can now see my system in the list of devices on spotify.
