Option to disable built-in WiFi, when Sonos is used as a single device.

However i understand that your enclosed WiFi signal is part of the strong Sonos formula, i would kindly ask you to consider the possibility to add WiFi management to your system. I'd like to turn off as must signals as possible when i'm going te sleep such as WiFi , DECT and turn my phones beside me in 'flight-mode'. My Fritzbox Router and DECT station allows me to take control when to turn on / off WiFi and (green) DECT. I'm considering expanding the Sonos system to my sleeping rooms and bath-room: your current WiFi policy is holding me from doing so. So please be kind: let me manage when to turn on or off the Sonos WiFi. A great product comes with great responsibility...

I have just found that the 12 Sonos devices in our home are brining down our network. Without being able to turn off the unrequired wireless feature it means we have to turn off the Sonos devices. This is really frustrating. No carols this Christmas 😞

I also have 12 SONOS zone players.  They are all hardwired with Ethernet cables, so the only thing the wireless signal does is interfere with other WiFi using the same channels.  My SONOS system includes older ZP100s which only operate on 2.4Ghz frequencies of which there are only 3 non-overlapping channels.  All 3 channels are being used for other Wifi networks.  The SONOS is causing what these other Wifi networks see as Signal Noise.

For all of you: Just find out the IP of your SONOS device and go to http://IP-ADDRESS:1400/wifictrl?wifi=off

After power off on the wifi is reactivated again.

If you want to disable it and have it persist through reboots, issue:

http://sonos-bedroom:1400/wifictrl?wifi=persist-off

This would be a HUGE benefit. The SONOS wireless creates HAVOC and I don't know of any Installers who use it as the backbone of a system. Put in an option to kill it!

I have 8 Connect Amps and 2 mobile units, I've got one unit with wifi enabled and the rest has been disabled.  Since I disabled it one week ago, my network has been stable.

Marc, I totally agree & I love my Fritzbox for all the same reasons you highlighted.
