I know this topic keeps getting marked as answered when people in the community ask, but then why do drop outs keeping happening so often.
I purchased my first set of sonos speakers in 2012. In 2020 I refreshed the entire setup. Here’s my current configuration:
- Backyard Porch - 2 Play 5s paired
- Dining Room - 1 - Play 1
- Living Room - 2 Play 5s paired
- Family Room - arc + sub + amp powering 2 in wall surrounds (ethernet to nearest wifi hub)
- Upstairs Hallway - 1 Play 1
- Office - beam (connected to TV) and ethernet
- Office - Era 300
- Bedroom - arc + sub + 2 Play 1s for surround pair
- Closet - Move
That is 16 devices. All devices are on my local WiFi which consists of 5 Eero Max 7 with 1Gb ethernet.
- The Office Beam is connected to the gateway Eero via ethernet through a small switch.
- The Amp, which is in a drawer, had an ethernet cable to the nearby Eero which is not hardwired.
I am constantly adjusting, updating, resetting, and re-adding the devices to try and get them working. I do not have the ability to hardwire all of them or I would.
The issue has become worse after the release of the nee app.
I am looking for ideas on how to accurately diagnose the issue.
