I have a Harmony Hub that talks to a Sonos Connect.

The routine I set up works perfectly EXCEPT I cannot seem to get the Sonos device to affect “PLAY” through the Harmony activity (music source is Pandora). After Harmony gets all devices in the proper “state”, I can THEN go to the Sonos app and the Harmony routine has selected the proper Pandora channel. but will not start playing music. I can (in the Sonos app) click “PLAY” and then all is well, but I cannot seem to get the Harmony activity routines to include “PLAY” even though that command is one of the options on the Sonos device.

I’ve also tried sprinkling in PAUSE DELAYs as well, no joy.

FWIW I had this working but this stopped working after a recent electrical storm (all devices still work fine, just the “PLAY” operation will not work through the Harmony activity).

It’s harder than average to respond to this, since Harmony stopped supporting the Hub many years ago.

My suspicion is that the electrical storm affected the output of the Hub in some way. However, since the CONNECT has no IR sensor, it isn’t that, but a perhaps deeper WiFi connection issue. I’d certainly be tempted, at least at first, to reboot everything, from the Hub itself, the router, and the Sonos. Just to cover all the bases, since any of them might be an issue.

Next, and I’m struggling to remember back when I used to use my two hubs, I’d be tempted to completely remove the program that affects the Sonos, then reboot the device, and then reinstall it. Again, no real promises, but that’s what I would try.

Beyond that, I’d try connecting with Harmony (Logitech) support, but given they no longer support the Hub, I wouldn’t hold out a lot of hope.

Thanks. I’ve done all reboot stuff. I also removed the Hub’s “Activity” that drives all the components. It’s shocking that the simple “Play” command will not work!

As I said, my suspicion is the Hub isn’t sending the correct command. Much more likely than Sonos not reacting, but that’s merely an assumption. I’d still be talking to Logitech CS. If they are willing to discuss it.
