I’d like to have a list of all my music and wonder if there is any way too export/extract the Sonos Much Library I’ve indexed?

I expect there might be stand alone music catalogue software also which might do the trick. I only use Apple Music to rip CDs

Thanks

You could maybe create a playlist (temporarily) from the library and then export it to .CSV there are a few ways to do that with 3rd-party Apps.

More here:

Or maybe export the library/playlist outside of Sonos, perhaps from iTunes itself:

Many thanks. I’ll have a butchers later and report if it works for me. I never use Playlists so not sure how that would work

I thought iTunes was deprecated? Certainly not on my Mac anymore and as I said I don’t use Apple Music as there’s no need since Sonos does it for me.

Really, I didn’t know Apple stopped it for the Mac, iTunes is still available to download from Apple on my PC?

It may depend on your OS I guess, but this is a link I stumbled upon in a search: https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1977?locale=en_GB

But there are other Apps to do these things anyway if you do a Google search, perhaps look at a tag editor. like mP3Tag, as that has export to text/excel format features too.

I use a tag editor on the Mac and had thought to try that. Will see if it can cope with loading such a large number of files!

And yes iTunes was discontinued in 2019 for new Macs, which mine is. Still available for older OS though

It used to be possible to dump the library index, but that page has been removed from the user-accessible diagnostics.

If I were you I’d install Mp3tag for Mac and use that to scan the shared folders that Sonos sees. Mp3tag has very flexible reporting capabilities. It is however paid software for Mac, though free on Windows.

hi @Stuart_W you may have a look at ‘Export for iTunes’ which is a freeware for macOS and includes reporting tools for Apple Music libraries (formerly iTunes)

I don’t use iTunes (It’s not even available on new Macs). It would now be “Music” on a Mac but I don’t use that to catalogue my music since I have Sonos .

I did achieve what I wanted using my tag editor - Metadatics
