With the Sonos Arc, can I use a Play One and a Sonos One as the rear surround speakers?

Do I need a Sub or does the Arc provide the Sub qualities?

No, a Play:1 and One cannot be used together as surround speakers in a home theater setup. I recommend using two Play:1s or two One SLs as surrounds. NOTE: A One can be used together with a One SL as surround speakers.

Whether or not you need a Sub with your Arc depends on the size of your room and personal preference. Some users are content with the bass the Arc produces. Others, like myself, require more bass from a home theater setup so we recommend adding the Sub.

An Arc isn’t bad alone but a couple movies with a Sub attached and you won’t be willing to send it back to Sonos.
