Sonos One vs Play:1
I am toying with buying 2 x Sonos 1 speakers as opposed to Sonos 5. Do you have to have Alexa, etc , for the Sonos 1 to work, or is just an extra feature not needed to listen to music?

You do not need to enable Alexa on the Sonos One. It is purely optional.
