I just recently bought the beam for my small apartment and I’m looking to expand to the 5.1 surround setup. Should I get the Play:1s or Ones for my rears first or the sub first? I want to gradually get to the 5.1 because of the cost.

I’d go with the pair of One or One SL. That will give you 5.0 surround. Then add the Sub later.

Most people would recommend adding the Sub first. But since you live in an apartment, it might be best to add One SLs as surrounds first because the Sub may disturb your neighbors.
