Hi guys!

My first post here, so be gentle 😅

I currently have one Sonos room with Beam/Submini/Ones, but am looking to get sound for another room

When looking at the prices now, the cost of two used, but good condition, Play5(gen2) is almost exactly the same as a new Five, here in Norway.

What do you guys think I should go for? Can I expect the Play5s to lose its compatibility with S2 for example in the future?

Thanks!

I would go with the older Play:5 (Gen 2). They sound exactly the same as the Five. And I wouldn’t worry too much about S2 compatibility. The Play:5 is compatible with S2 now and will more than likely continue to be compatible for years to come.

I would say the same as @GuitarSuperstar .  I would not swap my pair of gen 2 P:5s for a single Five.  A pair of gen 2 P:5s would give you an excellent stereo system.
