Question regarding Port and Sonos Sub

Quick Question-

I recently purchased a new house which has 8 in-ceiling speakers connected to a 2 channel stereo receiver. I am planning on buying a port to connect to the receiver, so that I can add these in-ceiling speakers to my sonos ecosphere.

I already own a sonos beam, sub, (2) play 1s, and a move that I have been using in my previous home. I read that it isn’t possible to “attach” the sub to the port (or the in ceiling speakers). My question is this: If I attach the sub to the beam as I have in the past, and then pair the beam/sub to the port so they all play the same thing in unison?

Thanks,

Ben

Yes, they will play together if you group them together, as long as Beam isn't using TV as a source. The effect of the Sub while playing just music will depend on where it is placed, but that is a different issue.

Ideally seeing its cost, get the Port on a returnable basis.
