Appreciate your interest in the Sonos product as well. Getting a Sonos Arc, 2 Sonos Five as surround, and a Sub is a great choice.
Yes, you can enjoy a home theater set up with these set of Sonos speakers. You can watch your favorite movies and programs on your TV (with HDMI eARC capability to experience Atmos).
Using the Sonos app, you can switch from TV to music on the Sonos speakers in a matter of seconds. Add your music services in the Sonos app to listen to your favorite music and streaming from your local music library, Android device, or Internet radio stations on Sonos with supported audio formats.

Hi @Zeusdafreak
@Rowena B. is correct. Just know that the Five’s used as surrounds will be behind the seating area when playing music. The Arc will join in as @Rowena B. said.
Bottom-line if you’re not a purist when listening to music having the Five’s behind you may not matter versus having them setup in a traditional manner upfront.
If money is not a concern (and you are a music purist) you might consider using Sonos One SL’s as surrounds and placing the Five’s upfront as a dedicated stereo pair for music. That is the setup I have. FYI, Five’s are considered overkill by most for surround where as the Sonos One SL’s will serve just as well.
Note: The only caveat with the aforementioned suggestion as that the Five’s will not share the sub used with the Arc and Sonos One SL’s. Many have said the Five’s when use as dedicated music speakers have a low-end approaching that achieved by the Sonos sub. Key word being “approaching” not an exact 1 to 1 comparison for low-end.
Cheers!
That’s great. I am installing this setup where the fives will be on either end of a very long corridor breezeway patio with the tv in the center. The fives will resonate out into the yard when music is played . I don’t have a traditional soundstage so I think this will serve in both surround and radio. Thanks for the response. I believe I’m ready to take the plunge.
