Is it possible to pair sonos one gen 2 with sonos 5?

You can’t Pair dissimilar devices, no. You can Group them of course though.

No. They have different internals, in terms of the computing platform.

Pairing makes them stereo, where one plays the left stereo channel and the other the right.  Grouping means they both play the same thing in sync.

Grouping is easy, quick, and simply plays the same music on multiple devices in sync.

Pairing is slow, done only occasionally, and used to create stereo pairs, and surround arrangements, with fixed numbers of speakers (eg 2 for stereo). different audio comes out of each device (eg Left and Right).
