Pair of 1s, 3s or a 5?

Hi there,
I'm trying to setup my parents with Sonos for Christmas. We currently have a few Play 3s around the house, but I want to get a setup for our living room thats rather large (20 foot ceiling and open concept to the dinning room). I'm not sure between a pair of Play:1s (and eventually adding a Sub), pair or Play:3s or a single Play:5.

Any recommendations or suggestions on what to think about?

If you are sure of adding the Sub, a play 1 pair is the way to go. Nice on its own, brilliant with the Sub. And before the Sub, you might want to add one play 1 unit to the dining room as well, unless it has a 3 unit available for it.
