When you look into the Sonos arc which they sell at Costco‘s would it be wise to also attach the subwoofer? And if you do that, do you need rear speakers with that type of sound bouncing off the ceiling?

It is almost always a wise choice to add a subwoofer to a home theater system unless you live in an apartment with thin walls and you don’t want to bother your neighbors. The added bass a Sub produces is well worth the investment.
The two upward firing speakers of the Arc produce a very subtle height effect. The side firing speakers produce a virtual surround effect by bouncing sound off of the walls which produces pretty convincing results, but nothing is more convincing than having actual rear surround speakers.
