Does the sub mini work with the sub mini

Hey 

I have a play:3 that I really love and don’t want to upgrade. But I lack a bit of more bass so Iam looking to buy a sub. I want to buy the sub mini but i worry is they going to work together. 
Can someone tell if they work together or should I look for a older sub?
